Suppose the Gas is acting ideally, Then, According to Ideal Gas Equation;

                                               P₁ V₁  =  P₂ V₂    ----- (1)
Data Given:
                  P₁  =  885 torr

                  V₁  =  125 cm³

                  P₂  =  225 torr

                  V₂  =  ?

Puting values in eq, 1;

                                     V₂  =  P₁ V₁ / P₂

                                     V₂  =  (885 torr × 125 cm³) ÷ 225 torr

                                     V₂  =  491.66 cm³

Hydrogen is a special ,because it can act like two groups,____and_____
LuckyWell [14K]

Answer:

First and seventeenth group.

Explanation:

Hydrogen is a special case as it has only one electron in its outermost orbital.

The hydrogen can lose or can accept electron easily.

Thus it can form positive ion similar to alkali metals and negative ion similar to halogens.

Thus it can fall into two groups

a) I group [Alkali metals]

b) 17th Group [Halogens]

Use the successive ionization energies for this unknown element to identify the family it belongs to.
NNADVOKAT [17]

Answer: Belongs to the group 2A

Explanation:

As you can see, the first two ionization energies are close and low, meaning that this element ionizates easily.

Not only loses easily the first electron, but the second too

To remove the third electron you requiered a huge amount of energy

Now, elements easily ionizable are the ones from group IA, group 2A and transition metals.

The last ones have mixed characteristics in matter of how many electrons you can remove from them, so they are not a family.

Now the question: group I or group II ?

The elements of group I have low  ionization energies  for the first electron but high energies for the second ones.

Being all that said, the unknown element belongs to the Group 2A

24. The air in a small 250 cm birthday balloon is at a pressure of 760 torr. A boy sits on it at
kvv77 [185]

Answer:

1.14atm

Explanation:

Given parameters:

V1 = 250cm³ ;

              1000cm³ = 1dm³;  so this is 0.25dm³

P1  = 760torr

            760torr  = 1atm

V2  = 220cm³ ; 0.22dm³

Unknown:

New pressure = ?

Solution:

To solve this problem, we apply Boyle's law and we use the expression below:

       P1 V1 = P2V2

The unknown is P2;

            1 x 0.25  = P2 x 0.22

                 P2  = 1.14atm

Which statement best describes the organelles in a cell
Bas_tet [7]

Answer:

(2) Organelles must work together and their

activities must be coordinated

Explanation:

Organelles are usually located in cells. They are saddled with the role of performing specific functions in the cells for the overall functioning of life. In eukaryotic cells, the organelles are membrane bounded but in prokaryotic or primitive cells such is not the case.

Examples of cell organelles are ribosome, food vacuole, nucleus e.t.c. Just like organs in the body, organelles must work together in order to enhance life.
