For the first one is definitely 0.12
The second one I was having trouble with, but I know it is not .25 or .75. Looking at the leftover answers I would say .36 because I already used .12. Also .52 and .25 are the givens.

X2 +x − 4 = 0
Rus_ich [418]

Answer:

  • a=1
  • b=1
  • c=-4
  • x =  (-1 ±√17)/2

Step-by-step explanation:

The coefficient of x^2 is "a". That is 1.

The coefficient of x is "b". That is 1.

The constant term is "c". That is -4.

The values of a, b, and c are 1, 1, and -4, respectively.

_____

The solution is ...

  x = (-b ±√(b^2-4ac))/(2a)

Filling in the values of a, b, and c, this is ...

  x = (-1 ±√(1^2 -4·1·(-4)))/(2·1)

  x = (-1 ±√17)/2

Madison runs 5032 meters in 1 hour. If she runs at this rate, how far does she run in 4 hours?
pogonyaev
If Madison can run 5032 meters in 1 hours, then she can run 4*5032 meters in 4 hours. Multiply this out and the answer is 20128 meters in 4 hours

A function f(x) is even if f(−x) = f(x). Which of sine or cosine is even? Explain how you know. (b) A function f(x) is odd if f(
Tanzania [10]

Answer:

a. Cosine is an even function

b. Sine is an odd function

c. cos(x) = sin(x + pi/2)

Step-by-step explanation:

See the plot attached.

a. In the figure it can be seen that, for example, cos(pi/2) = cos(-pi/2); therefore, cosine is even.

b. In the figure it can be seen that, for example, sin(pi/2) = 1;  sin(-pi/2) = -1; therefore, sine is odd.

c. Function displacements along x-axis are made adding (or subtracting) values to x; i. e., f(x + a), where a is a constant, displace the function f(x) a steps to the left. It can be seen in the figure that sine is cosine but displaced pi/2 values to the right. So, sin(x + pi/2) will displace sine pi/2 values to the left, where cosine is placed.
