1: Exact volume of cone =  r^2 * h/ 3 =  15^2 * 9 / 3 =    225 * 9=  2025/3 = 675

2: Approximate volume of cone: pi* r^2 * h / 3 =  3.14 * 10^2 * 9/3 = 3.14 * 100* 9/3 =   3.14 x 900 / 3   = 2826/3 = 942 cm^3

3:  Asks for the same as problem above, but we have to divide the diameter by 2 to get the radius first 10/2=5 now we can solve. : 3.14 * 5^2 * 5/3 =   3.14 * 25 * 5/ 3 =  3.14 * 125 / 3  = 392.5/ 3 = 130.8 m^3

The exact volume does not use pi: so that is why the first one is 675
The Approximate used pi or 3.14.

Solve for all values of x in simplest form. 9-4|3+5x|=5
Zinaida [17]

Answer:

x=-2/5\text{ or } x=-4/5

Step-by-step explanation:

So we have the equation:

9-4|3+5x|=5

First, subtract 9 from both sides:

-4|3+5x|=-4

Divide both sides by -4:

|3+5x|=1

Definition of Absolute Value:

3+5x=1\text{ or } 3+5x=-1

Subtract 3 from both sides:

5x=-2\text{ or } 5x=-4

Divide both sides by 5:

x=-2/5\text{ or } x=-4/5

And we're done!

A survey of 100 high school students provided this
HACTEHA [7]

Answer:

35/100

Step-by-step explanation:

You have to find how many juniors there are, so if you add 13, 20, and 2 you get 35. For the denominator you have to find the total number of students, so just add all of the numbers together to get 100. So there is a 35/100 chance that a randomly selected student is a junior.

The dimensions of a rectangle box are consecutive integers. If the box has volume of 13,800 cubic centimeters, what are its dime
klasskru [66]
Three consecutive integers are x, x+1, x+2.
The volume of a rectangular box is the product of its three dimensions. The volume is 138000 cm³.

x(x+1)(x+2)=13800 \\
(x^2+x)(x+2)=13800 \\
x^3+2x^2+x^2+2x=13800 \\
x^3+3x^2+2x-13800=0 \\
x^3-23x^2+26x^2-598x+600x-13800=0 \\
x^2(x-23)+26x(x-23)+600(x-23)=0 \\
(x^2+26x+600)(x-23)=0 \\
x^2+26x+600=0 \ \lor \ x-23=0 \\ \\
1. \\
x^2+26x+600=0 \\ \\
a=1 \\ b=26 \\ c=600 \\ \Delta=b^2-4ac=26^2-4 \times 1 \times 600=676-2400=-1724 \\
\hbox{the discriminant is less than 0 so there are no real solutions} \\ \\
2. \\
x-23=0 \\
x=23 \\ \\
x+1=23+1 =24 \\ \\
x+2=23+2=25

The dimensions of the box are 23 cm x 24 cm x 25 cm.
