A marathon is 46,145 yards (about 26 miles) long. If Terrence has run 23,561 yards, estimate by rounding to thousands the number
barxatty [35]

Given:

The length of the marathon is L= 46,145 yards.

The length covered by terrence is d = 23,561 yrads.

The objective is to find the remaining distance need to cover by terrence.

To calculate the remaining distance, we will use the relation,

x=L-d

On plugging the values in the above relation, we get,

\begin{gathered} x=46145-23561 \\ =22584\text{ yards} \\ \approx23000\text{ yards} \end{gathered}

Hence, Terrence needs to run about 23000 yards.

Ten times the square of a non zero number is equal to eighty times the number
klasskru [66]
The problem says that 10x^2 = 80x. Since x is guaranteed not to equal zero, divide both sides by x; 10x=80. Divide both sides by 10 and x=8

The point Al-2, 3) is translated using T: (x,y) → (x+4, y+2).
almond37 [142]

Answer:

The distance between A and A' is:

distance=\sqrt{20}

Step-by-step explanation:

Notice that point A' after the given translation becomes: (-2+4, 3+2) = (2, 5),

So one can calculate the distance between A (-2, 3) and A' (2, 5) using the distance formula:

distance=\sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}\\distance=\sqrt{(2-(-2))^2+(5-3)^2} \\distance=\sqrt{(4))^2+(2)^2} \\distance=\sqrt{(16+4} \\distance=\sqrt{20}
