What do the unknown factor and quotient represent?
svetlana [45]
<span>The unknown factor represents the value of the integer we are looking in a certain equation. We usually use variables to represent the unknown factor
for example:
A, B , C , X , Y , Z or any other letters that we want to use
While quotient represents that answer we get from dividing 2 or more integers.
For example:
2x + (25 / 5), where x is the unknown factor and the answer between 25/ 5 is called the quotient.

A bakery sells 4 dozen cupcakes every 3 hours. If the bakery is open 8 hours each day, how many days does it take to sell 640 cu
zmey [24]

5 days does it take to sell 640 cupcakes.

Given:

A bakery sells 4 dozen cupcakes every 3 hours.

If the bakery is open 8 hours each day.

4 dozen cupcakes = 4*12 cupcakes

= 48 cupcakes

48 cupcakes = 3 hours

divide by 3 on both sides

3hours/3 = 48/3 cupcakes

1 hour = 16 cupcakes

Number of cupcakes for 8 hours = 8 * 16 = 128 cupcakes.

128 cupcakes sells in one day.

To sell 640 cupcakes = 640/128

= 5 days.

Therefore 5 days does it take to sell 640 cupcakes.

Please show me step by step: x^3+2x^2-5x-6=0
Kazeer [188]

Answer:

x=-1, x=2, x=3

Step-by-step explanation:

Factor the left side of the equation.

(x+1)(x^2+x-6)

(x+1)(x-2)(x-3)

Now set everything equal to 0

x+1=0

x-2=0

x-3=0

Now solve for x

therefore, the answer is x=-1, x=2, x=3

A dilation has center (0, 0). Find the image of each point for the given scale factor.
pshichka [43]

Answer:

A. (−3,5)

Step-by-step explanation:

The rule for dilation by scale factor k is given by:

(x,y)\to (kx,ky)

The given point is P(-3,5) and the scale factor is k=1

We substitute the point and the scale factor into the rule to get:

P(-3,5)\to P'(-3\times1,5\times1)

This gives us:

P(-3,5)\to P'(-3,5)

The correct answer is A
