Okay this isn't the answer but it is how u can get your answer and explain  how to justify it. which math will be how u justify it.... So basically your answer is A.... and you will add 1 1/2 + 3/4 + 1/8 =.25 which is your work they want you to show them and that is what I just showed you in a number line. I hope that's correct, but i'm pretty sure it is. Sorry that took so long i am working still on my own work and still stuck on  my own lol. I am not the best with math and this kind of stuff though, but again i am almost sure this is correct

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

A recipe calls for

Flour = 1\frac{1}{2} cups

White sugar =  \frac{3}{4} cups

Brown sugar =  \frac{1}{8} cups

Total cups of ingredients =  1\frac{1}{2} +  \frac{3}{4} +  \frac{1}{8}

                                        = \frac{3}{2}  + \frac{3}{4} + \frac{1}{8}

                                       = \frac{12+6+1}{8}

                                       = \frac{19}{8}

                                       = 2\frac{3}{8}  = 2.375 cups

(a) There are 2.375 cups of ingredients

(b) For the recipe mixing bowl of 3 cup can be used because it is just slightly larger than the amount of ingredients in your recipe.

(01.02 LC)Simplify negative 7 and 1 over 8 − negative 9 and 1 over 2. negative 2 and 3 over 8 negative 16 and 5 over 8 16 and 5
user100 [1]
Your question seems to be -7 +(1/8) -(-9) + (1/2) but then there is a decimal in front of the next -2 so that makes no sense unless that is a period before starting a new equation. You can simply type this beginning section into a calculator to get your answer of (21/8), but I have a feeling you just tried to copy and paste a test question and it did not format correctly in your question so is probably much more complicated than using a calculator.
A better idea would be to write it in math terms instead of words, then find a common denominator so you can simplify. Writing it out in words makes it too hard for your brain to think about it in terms of math.
