The manager of a grocery store wants to determine the average amount of money spent at his store as it compares to the average d

ollar amount spent at his competitor's store. At the end of the day, he reviews the amounts of the last 15 grocery orders. The amounts rounded to the nearest dollar are: 41, 38, 19, 30, 21, 53, 34, 34, 37, 29, 50, 43, 57, 28, 50 He then visits the store of his competitor and surveys the first 15 people leaving the store with groceries. The amounts he records, also rounded to the nearest dollar, are: 86, 15, 75, 40, 51, 60, 27, 45, 112, 7, 65, 31, 18, 27, 69 What is the average amount of money spent at each store to the nearest cent? For which store is the mean a better representation of the data? In two or more complete sentences, explain your answer.

So we first have to find the mean: 41+ 38+19+ 30 +21+ 53+34+34 + 37+ 29+ 50 + 43+ 57+ 28+ 50 = 534 534/15 = 35.60
86+ 15+ 75+ 40+ 51+ 60+ 27+ 45+ 112+ 7+65+ 31+ 18+ 27+ 69 = 728728/15 = 48.53

Therefore, the store with the better representation of there data would be the competitor's store. This is because more money is being spent at the competitor's store which has an average of $49.00 when the owners store has an average of $36.00.
Hope this helps.

25 Points for answer
Luden [163]

Answer: 2

Step-by-step explanation:

First you have to plug in the value for x which is -18 so then you're equation then get y by itself and solve for y. This becomes

-3(-18) -y = 56

54 - y = 56

-54 -54

Y=2

You can check your work by plugging in 18 for x and 2 for y and when you solve the equation your answer should equal 56.

Find the point that is 3/4 of the distance P (-6,-5) to the point Q (2,7)
Zarrin [17]

Using proportions, the coordinates of the point 3/4 of the way from P to Q are: (0,4).

What is a proportion?

A proportion is a fraction of a total amount, and the measures are related using a rule of three. Due to this, relations between variables, either direct or inverse proportional, can be built to find the desired measures in the problem.

We want to find the coordinates of point M(x,y) 3/4 of the way from P to Q, hence the rule is given by:

M - P = 3/4(Q - P)

For the x-coordinate, we have that:

x + 6 = 3/4(2 + 6)

x + 6 = 6

x = 0.

For the y-coordinate, we have that:

y + 5 = 3/4(7 + 5)

y + 5 = 9.

y = 4.

The coordinates are (0,4).
