Iron has a higher specific heat than copper.

Option: B

Explanation:

The Specific heat of copper is 385 J whereas the specific heat of Iron is 450 J. So it obviously shows that Iron has more specific heat than Copper.

Iron takes more energy to heat than copper but it stores more energy when heated than copper. So it takes more time to heat the iron skillet than the copper vessel. But once heated, iron vessels store more energy when heated than copper ones. Also it depends on the molecular structure of the elements. Cast Iron has a structure of iron crystals and amorphous carbon atoms whereas Copper has a regular structure. Since cast iron has less organized structure more energy is required to vibrate the atoms.

Answer:

A. absorb heat energy and move farther apart

Explanation:

The answer is A since when a ice cube takes in heat, it changes form and melts down to a liquid : water.

The molecules in water are farther apart since they are moving around alot but can be contained in a container.

An object is placed on a surface. A student tries to apply various combinations of forces on the object. Which pair of forces wi
AVprozaik [17]

Answer:

See Explanation

Explanation:

The question is incomplete, as there are no diagrams or options to provide more information to the question.

The general explanation is as follows:

For the object not to move

(1): The forces acting on the object must opposite each other. i.e. if force A acts at the right (or positive direction), force B will act at the left (or negative direction).

(2) The two forces must be equal.

So, for instance:

If the pair of forces are 5N and 5N in opposite directions, the object wil not move.

However, if one of the forces is greater, the object will move towards the direction of the greater force.

A basketball rolls without slipping (starting from rest) down a ramp. If the ramp is sloped by an angle of 4 degrees above the h
slavikrds [6]

Answer:

11.7 m/s

Explanation:

To find its speed, we first find the acceleration of the center of mass of a rolling object is given by

a = gsinθ/(1 + I/MR²) where θ = angle of slope = 4, I = moment of inertia of basketball = 2/3MR²

a = 9.8 m/s²sin4(1 + 2/3MR²/MR²)

 = 9.8 m/s²sin4(1 + 2/3)

 = 9.8 m/s²sin4 × (5/3)

 = 1.14 m/s²

To find its speed v after rolling for 60 m, we use

v² = u² + 2as where u = initial speed = 0 (since it starts from rest), s = 60 m

v = √(u² + 2as) = √(0² + 2 × 1.14 m/s × 60 m) = √136.8 = 11.7 m/s
