This stadium can hold 100,000, or 1 x 105, people. The number of atoms in a grain of iron is about 1 x 1018. Would you need 1 x

1010 or 1 x 1013 stadiums to hold the same number of people as the number of atoms in a grain of iron? Explain your answer.

<h3>Answer:</h3>

1 x 10^13 stadiums

<h3>Explanation:</h3>

We are given that;

1 stadium holds = 1 × 10^5 people

Number of iron atoms is 1 × 10^18 atoms

Assuming the stadium would carry an equivalent number of atoms as people.

Then, 1 stadium will carry 1 × 10^5 atoms

Therefore,

To calculate the number of stadiums that can hold 1 × 10^18 atoms we divide the total number of atoms by the number of atoms per stadium.

Number of stadiums = Total number of atoms ÷ Number of atoms per stadium

                                  = 1 × 10^18 atoms ÷ 1 × 10^5 atoms/stadium

                                   = 1 × 10^13 Stadiums

Thus, 1 × 10^18 atoms would occupy 1 × 10^13 stadiums

What is the mass (in kg) of 2.16 • 10^24 atoms of lead?
KiRa [710]

Answer:

0.783 kg

Explanation:

You must make the conversions:

atoms of Pb ⟶ moles of Pb ⟶ grams of Pb ⟶ moles of Pb

\text{Moles of Pb} = 2.16 \times 10^{24} \text{ atoms Pb} \times \frac{\text{1 mol Pb} }{ 6.022 \times 10^{23} \text{ atoms Pb} } = \text{3.589 mol Pb} \\

\text{Mass of S} = \text{3.589 mol Pb} \times \frac{\text{207.2 g Pb}}{\text{1 mol Pb} } = \text{743 g Pb = 0.783 kg Pb} \\

1. With the aid of a Hess cycle, determine the enthalpy of the decomposition reaction of sodium nitrate, NaNO3 to sodium nitrite
lakkis [162]

Answer:

Explanation:

2NaNO₃ = 2NaNO₂ + O₂

NaNO₃    =     NaNO₂   +    1/2 O₂

- 468 kJ           -369 kJ           0  kJ

enthalpy of decomposition reaction

= - 369 - ( - 468 ) kJ

= 99 kJ / mol .

Protons and neutrons are found within the nucleus of an atom.<br><br> True<br><br> False
ZanzabumX [31]
This is true. Both protons and neutrons are found within the nucleus. The electrons however are found orbiting the nucleus.

Hope this helped!
