<em>Greetings from Brasil</em>

Let us call the distance AB of Y (in the problem nothing is said about this dimension, so lets call of Y).

From the attached drawing we can conclude that:

AB + BC = AC

where

  AB = Y

  BC = 2X + 4

  AC = 24

then

AB + BC = AC

Y + (2X + 4) = 24

<h2>X = (20 - Y)/2</h2>

<em>In my view this question is incomplete</em>

A city bus company sold 39 one-way tickets and 20 round-trip tickets from west elmwood to east elmwood. One-way tickets cost $14
gregori [183]
39 × 14 =546
20 × 25 =500
add them together 546+500= 1046
so the company collected $1046

Y=2x-4 <br> What is the five ordered pairs and completing the input/output table
kati45 [8]

Answer:

{(0, -4), (1, -2), (2, 0), (3, 2), (4, 4)}

<u>Input values (x)</u> = {0, 1, 2, 3, 4}

<u>Output values (y)</u> = {-4, -2, 0, 2, 4}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the linear equation, y = 2x - 4, you could practically choose any input value (for x), to have an output value (for y).

If x = 0:

y = 2(0) - 4

y = 0 - 4

y = -4

First ordered pair: y-intercept =  (0, -4)

If x = 1:

y = 2(1) - 4

y= 2 - 4

y = -2

Second ordered pair: (1, -2).

If x = 2:

y = 2(2) - 4

y= 4 - 4

y = 0

Third ordered pair: x-intercept =  (2, 0).

If x = 3:

y = 2(3) - 4

y = 6 - 4

y = 2

Fourth ordered pair: (3, 2).

If x = 4:

y = 2(4) - 4

y = 8 - 4

y = 4

Fifth ordered pair: (4, 4).

Your input values (x) = {0, 1, 2, 3, 4}

Your output values (y) = {-4, -2, 0, 2, 4}

15) Which equation does not represent a function?
givi [52]
The answer is D as it can be rewritten as -((y^2)/5)-(8/5)=x. Solving for the x-intercepts you get -((y^2)/5)-(8/5) = 0 as you want to find the y values when x is zero. Solving for y you get: (y^2)/5)+(8/5) = 0 => (y^2)/5)=-(8/5) => y^2=-8 => y = plus or minus sqrt(-8). The first problem is that you have 2 x intercepts which already makes it not a function and second sqrt(-8) is an imaginary number making the solution not a real number.
