As per the problem

The auditorium hold 200 people.

Also the tickets cost $12 at the door and $8.50 if purchased in advance.

The drama club has a goal of selling at least $1000 worth of tickets to Saturday's show.

Let total number of tickets purchased at door be x and the number of tickets purchased in advance be y.

Then revenue for x tickets =12x

Revenue from y tickets=8.50y

Hence the inequality can be set up as below

x+y\leq 200, \text{    Because the maximum capacity is 200}

12x+8.50y\geq 1000

x>0,y>0

12•x+8.50•y>=1,000
x+y=<200

X-number of tickets sold at the door
Y-number of tickets sold in advance

The price of tiling a room varies directly as the size of the room. Sam is laying tile in his kitchen. If the tiling costs $4,22
mixas84 [53]

Answer:

239 ft².

Step-by-step explanation:

Let P represent the price for tiling.

Let S represent the size of the room.

From the question,

Price (P) varies directly as the size (S) i.e

P & S

P = KS

Where K is the constant of proportionality.

Next, we shall determine the value of K as follow

Price (P) = $ 4224

Size (S) = 264 ft²

Constant of proportionality (K) =?

P = KS

4224 = K × 264

Divide both side by 264

K = 4224/264

K = 16

Finally, we shall determine the size of the kitchen that will cost $ 3824 for tiling.

This is illustrated below:

Price (P) = $ 3824

Constant of proportionality (K) = 16

Size (S) =?

P = KS

3824 = 16 × S

Divide both side by 16

S = 3824/16

S = 239 ft²

Therefore, the size of the kitchen is 239 ft².

What is the common ratio for the geometric sequence? 18,12,8,163,… Enter your answer in the box.
uysha [10]

Answer:

\frac{2}{3}.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given a geometric sequence 18,12,8,16/3,.. We are asked to find the common ratio of given geometric sequence.

We can find common ratio of geometric sequence by dividing any number by its previous number in the sequence.

\text{Common ratio of geometric sequence}=\frac{a_2}{a_1}

Let us use two consecutive numbers of our sequence in above formula.

a_2 will be 12 and a_1 will be 18 for our given sequence.

\text{Common ratio of geometric sequence}=\frac{12}{18}

Dividing our numerator and denominator by 6 we will get,

\text{Common ratio of geometric sequence}=\frac{2}{3}

Let us use numbers 8 and 16/3 in above formula.

\text{Common ratio of geometric sequence}=\frac{\frac{16}{3}}{8}

\text{Common ratio of geometric sequence}=\frac{16}{3*8}

\text{Common ratio of geometric sequence}=\frac{2}{3}

Therefore, we get \frac{2}{3} as common ratio of our given geometric sequence.
