3 0

Answer:

Let p be the number of pencils.

3(14-p)=30+p

42-3p=30+p

4p=12, p=3.

So Peter ends up with 33 and Tony with 11. 3*11=33, so that confirms that Tony gave Peter 3 pencils.

For what ordered pair (a,b) are there infinite solutions (x,y) to the system ; 3ax + 3y=5b, 2x+y=5
Semmy [17]

Answer:

The ordered pair is (2,3)

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

If a system of equations has infinite solutions, then the equations are the same

we have

3ax+3y=5b -----> equation A

2x+y=5 ----> equation B

Multiply equation B by 3 both sides

3*(2x+y)=5*3

6x+3y=15 -----> equation C

Compare equation A and equation C

so

3ax=6x------> 3a=6 -----> a=2

5b=15 ------> b=3

The ordered pair is (2,3)

On a coordinate plane, quadrilateral Q R S T has points (0, 2), (negative 4, 0), (0, negative 3), and (4, 0).
Afina-wow [57]

By applying the definitions of rigid transformation ((x, y) → (0.5 · x, 0.5 · y)) and dilation, we conclude that the coordinates of Q'(x, y) are (0.1).

How to apply rigid transformations on a point

Herein we must apply a rigid transformation into a given point to determine an image. Rigid transformations are transformations applied on a geometric locus such that Euclidean distance is conserved. Dilations are a kind of rigid transformations such that:

(x, y) → (k · x, k · y), for k > 0

If we know that Q(x, y) = (0, 2) and k = 0.5, then the coordinates of Q' are:

Q'(x, y) = (0.5 · 0, 0.5 · 2)

Q'(x, y) = (0, 1)

By applying the definitions of rigid transformation ((x, y) → (0.5 · x, 0.5 · y)) and dilation, we conclude that the coordinates of Q'(x, y) are (0.1).

jim ran 15.2 miles over the weekend . he ran 6.75 miles on saturday. how many miles did he run on sunday?
kap26 [50]
Subtract 6.75 from 15.2 to find what he did on Sunday, because supposed the number of miles he ran on Sunday was x. Therefore, the formula should be x + 6.75 = 15.2
Solve that, and you should get that Jim ran 8.45 miles on Sunday.
