Descriptive statistics are used to briefly explain the distribution of a data by the use of central tendency and measure of variability. The descriptive coefficients are the representative of the sample or the whole population.
Inferential statistics is based on the inferences drawn, about the population, from the experiment conducted after selecting a sample from the population.
This is because the survey results are used to interpret the population proportion of class who are willing to take another math class.
