Answer:

b = 1/4

Step-by-step explanation:

It has to be a log because for x=0, b⁰ should be 1 for every b and that is not the case here.

Remember that y = \log_bx means that b^y=x.

Since the point (4,-1) seems to be on the line, we can solve:

b⁻¹ = 4

so b = 1/4

Answer: Choice A

Explanation:

\frac{h}{6} = quotient of h and 6

\frac{h}{6}+7.8 = 7.8 more than the quotient of h and 6

\frac{h}{6}+7.8 = w

The "is" often refers to "equals" in math translation problems like this.

Another example "h is 10" means "h = 10".

The ball's height( in meters above the ground), x seconds after Amir threw it, is modeled by : h(x)=-(x-2)^2 +16 what is the hei
Bess [88]

Answer:

20 m

Step-by-step explanation:

The height of the ball in metres is given as:

h(x) = (x-2)^2 + 16

where xis time, in seconds.

At the instant that the ball is thrown, the time is 0 seconds. This means that the height will be h(0):

h(0) = (0 - 2)^2 + 16\\\\\\h(0) = (-2)^2 + 16\\\\\\h(0) = 4 + 16\\\\\\h(0) = 20 m

The height of the ball is 20 metres.

Help!! Please thank you
Alchen [17]
Ok so we need to set the bottom to 0 to find the vertical asympyotes. This becomes x^2 - 4 = 0. Since we're talking about asymptotes, i'll assume you can solve basic equations. Solving for x and you get x = ±2. This means the vertical asymptotes are at ±2. To solve for horizontal asymptotes you take the limit as x goes to ±∞. Either way you end up with ±∞/∞. Now this isn't 1 because they grow at different rates. You differentiate both the top and bottom(L'hopital) and you get 6x/2x which becomes 3. This means the horizontal asymptote is at y = 3.

The board of directors of a company knows that the probability that the carbon emission from the company’s manufacturing unit is
Fantom [35]
The probability of that the carbon emission is exceeding permissible level in a company is given as 35% and in decimal is 0.35. The calculator test has an accuracy of 85% or 0.85. This can be solved using the probability of two independent events occurring. Let event A be the carbon emission exceeding permissible level and event B be the accuracy of the test. P (A and B) = P(A)xP(B) = 0.35x0.85 = 0.2975
