Answer:

Question 25. Ratio of areas = \frac{9}{256} and ratio of volumes = \frac{27}{4096}

Question 26. Surface area of smaller solid is 144 m²

Step-by-step explanation:

Question 25. The scale factor of two similar solids is 3 : 16.

We have to find out the ratio of their corresponding areas and volumes.

Since area is two dimensional unit, means area can be represented as multiplication of two dimensions.

If their sides are in the ratio of 3 : 16 then the ratio of their area will be = \frac{3^{2} }{16^{2}}=\frac{9}{256}

Similarly volume is three dimensional means it represents multiplication of three dimensions.

So the ratio of their volumes = \frac{3^{3} }{16^{3} }=\frac{27}{4096}

Question 26. Volume of two similar solids are 1331 m³ and 216 m³

Surface area of the larger solid is 484 m² then we have to find the surface area of the smaller solid.

As we have done in question number 25, ratio of dimensions of two solids will be = \sqrt[3]{\frac{1331}{216}}=\frac{11}{6}

Since we have calculated the ratio of dimensions of two solids so ratio of their area will be = \frac{11^{2} }{6^{2}}=\frac{121}{36}

Now we will use this ratio to determine the value of surface area of the smaller solid.

\frac{121}{36}=\frac{484}{x}

By cross multiplication

(121).x = (36).(484)

x=\frac{(36).(484)}{121}

x = 36×4 = 144 m²

Option C. is correct.

Evgesh-ka [11]

Weird. A period appears above this... huh.

Answer:

[Th]e cube has a greater value.

Step-by-step explanation:

What the word problem really wants us to get [is ]the question of 'Which is greater, A=6a^2 when 'a' [is] 18 or A=4\pir^2 when r = 9? And here's how to solve that.

Starting with the[ c]ube we have A=6a^2. A bit t[o]o simple, right?

A=6(18)^2 Substitute numbers.

A=6(324) Solve ex[p]onents.

A=1944 Mult[i]ply.

So w[e] know that the cube is 1944 meters cube[d ] in area. But what about the more [f]ormidable sphere? Fo[r] it we need a slightly m[o]re co[m]plicated formula, A=4\pir^2. However, instead of using the real pi I will be rounding to 3.14, since we have no calculator so anything more would take way too long and fry your[ bra]in.

A=4(3.14)(9)^2 Subst[i]tute numbers.

A=4(3.14)(81) Solve expone[n]ts.

A=12.56(81) Multip[ly].

A=1017.36 Multiply again[.]

Now, since I'm sure all of us can count, we know that 1944 is greater than 1017.36. Or in other words, the cube is bigger than the sphere.

And PLEASE don't copy this guys. Make your own iteration. Change it up!

Question 2 of 4
Alexxandr [17]

Answer:

The time it took for the bottle rocket to reach a height of 200 feet is 60 seconds.

Step-by-step explanation:

The function for the height of the bottle rocket (in feet), <em>t</em> seconds after  it is launched is:

h(t)=1157-16\ t

Compute the value of <em>t</em> as follows:

h(t)=1157-16\ t

200=1157-16t

 16t=1157-200\\16t=957\\

     t=59.8125\\t\approx60

Thus, the time it took for the bottle rocket to reach a height of 200 feet is 60 seconds.
