Systolic and diastolic blood pressures are affected differently by exercise? what could account for the difference?

Biology

Your heart has to work hard to pump more blood during exercise for each contraction, accounting for the increase in the systolic blood pressure. Diastolic pressure tends to not change at all or change slightly. The reason for this is that since the blood flow is increased during exercise, our arteries dilate, making the diastolic pressure stay the same, or decrease slightly.

What prevents wind from blowing in a straight line from the North Pole to the equator?
Veseljchak [2.6K]
"The Coriolis effect" is the one that prevents wind from blowing in a straight line from the north pole to the equator. The main reason for this effect is the spinning of our earth on its own axis. The earth spins faster near the equator than the poles. The reason is that the earth is wider near the equator. this causes the wind to deviate with the spin.

Strike441 [17]

Answer:

Methane is a chemical compound with the chemical formula CH4, symbolizing one atom of carbon and four atoms of hydrogen. It is a group 14 hydride and the simplest alkaline, and is the main constituent of natural gas. The relative abundance of methane on Earth makes it an economically attractive fuel, although capturing and storing it poses technical challenges due to its gaseous state under normal conditions for temperature and pressure. Methane naturally occurs both below ground and under the seafloor, and is formed by both geological and biological processes. In nature, methane is produced by the anaerobic bacterial decomposition of vegetable matter under water. Methane is important because it can be captured from landfills, can be burned to produce electricity, heat buildings, or power garbage trucks. Methane can also be captured from farm digesters, which are big tanks that contain manure and other waste from barns that house livestock such as cows and pigs. In fact, Jordan Dairy Farms in Massachusetts uses a biodigester to turn cow manure into methane gas, which is used for fuel or turned into electricity.

Atoms with a low ionization energy give up their outer valence electrons with ease true or false
umka2103 [35]

Answer: The given statement is true.

Explanation: Ionization energy is defined as the amount of energy required to remove an electron from the outermost shell of an isolated gaseous atom.

General equation of ionization energy is given by:

X(g)\rightarrow X^+(g)+e^-

 • If the outermost electron is loosely bound to the nucleus which means that the electron can be easily removed form an atom, it will require less amount of ionization energy.
 • And if the outermost electron is tightly bound to the nucleus which means that the electron cannot be removed easily from an atom. And hence, it will require more ionization energy.

Hence, the given statement is true.
