Integers are positive and negative whole numbers no fractions or decimals.
Real numbers do have fractions and decimals that integers do not.

and
if a^m=a^n, where a=a then n=m
(x^4)(x^n)=x^5
(x^4)(x^n)=x^(4+n)
x^(4+n)=x^5
therefor
4+n=5
minus 4
n=1
.2+3.6=3.8 because all you do is add the .2 feet with 3.6 feet
