Your team of test engineers is to release the parking brake so an 768.0-kg car will roll down a very long 6.1 percent grade in p

reparation for a crash test at the bottom of the incline. (On a 6.1 percent grade the change in altitude is 6.1 percent of the horizontal distance traveled.) The total resistive force (air drag plus rolling friction) for this car has been previously established to be Fd = 100 N + (1.2 N · s2/m2)v2, where v is the speed of the car. What is the terminal speed for the car rolling down this grade?

Answer: 19.98m/s

Explanation: since total resistive force (air drag plus rolling friction) for this car has been established to be

100 + 1.2v²] = Fᵈ

The angle of inclination is:

tanθ = 0.061/1 = tan(3.491°)

terminal(constant) speed is achieved when net force down along the incline = Fᵈ

=> mgsin3.491° = [100 + 1.2v²]

=> 768(9.81)0.061 = 100 + 1.2v²

579.62 = 100 + 1.2v²

1.2v² = 579.62 - 100

v² = 479.62/1.2

=> v² = 399.38

=> v ~= 19.98 m/s

So the car achieve terminal speed of 19.98m/m as it's rolling down the grade.

What is matter? Give a grade 10/11/12 understanding.
lara [203]

Matter can be many things, but is mostly made of atoms. Atoms are small things that cannot be seen directly, as lights either passes through it or alters it. However, we know that atoms are made of 3 parts, those being the proton, neutron, and electron.

Protons have a positive electromagnetic charge.

Neutrons have no charge.

Electrons have a negative charge equal to the protons positive charge.

Protons and neutrons make up what's called the nucleus, which is orbited by the electrons.

Protons and neutrons also share another thing in common, that being their composition.

Until relatively recently, we thought that these were the smallest particles in the universe, and indestructible. However, modern discoveries have revealed that they are actually made of quarks and gluons.

These are actually indestructible, being part of the group that is elementary particles.

A stone is dropped into a well. The sound of the splash is heard 6.25 s later. What is the depth of the well? (Take the speed of
Naya [18.7K]

Answer:

depth of well is 163.30 m

Explanation:

Given data

speed of sound = 343 m/s

timer = 6.25 s

to find out

depth of well

solution

let us consider depth d

so equation will be

depth = 1/2 ×g ×t²    ..............1

and

depth = velocity of sound × time    .................2

here we have given time 6.25 that is sum of 2 time

when stone reach at bottom that time

another is sound reach us after stone strike on bottom

so time 1 + time 2 = 6.25 s

so from equation 1  and 2 we get

1/2 ×g ×t² = velocity of sound × time

1/2 ×9.8 × t1² = 343 × (6.25 - t1 )

t1 = 5.77376 sec

so height = 1/2 ×g ×t²

height = 1/2 ×9.8 × (5.773)²

height = 163.30 m
