Answer:

D. 15/8

Step-by-step explanation:

In the diagram above, using trig ratio;

SOH CAH TOA

sinФ =  opposite / hypotenuse

cosФ = adjacent / hypotenuse

tanФ = opposite / adjacent

But you need to know how to identify all the side;

In this case, since our major concern is angle A, that is; since we are to find tan of angle A, then  this makes AC to become our adjacent, BC to be our opposite and AC will always be the hypotenuse regardless of whether we are to solve for angle A or angle B. But of course, if we are to solve for angle A the adjacent will not be AC anymore, it will definitely change.

But since we are solving for angle A;

adjacent = AC =8

opposite = BC = 15

Applying our trig. formula;

tanФ = opposite / adjacent

tan A   =  15/8

The question is:
saul85 [17]
f(x) = \sqrt{x+1} \\ y = \sqrt{x+1} \ or \ y^2 = x+1 \ or \ x = y^2 - 1 \\ Therefore, \ f^{-1}(x)=x^2 - 1

(fof^{-1})(a) = f(f^{-1}(a))=f(a^2-1) \\ =\sqrt{a^2-1+1}=\sqrt{a^2}=a \\  \\ (f^{-1}of)(a)=f^{-1}(f(a))=f^{-1}(\sqrt{a+1})= \\ (\sqrt{a+1})^2-1 = a+1-1 = a

Therefore, (fof^{-1})(a) = (f^{-1}of)(a) = a
