Answer:

the list of forces from greatest to least is Y, W, X, Z

Explanation:

Given data:

5 pairs of charged plates with force between each pair as : F, W, X,Y, Z

Also given are the charges q1 and q2 of plates in each pair and the distances between them (refer attachment)

To find: to arrange the force from greatest to least.

Initial step is to calculate the force value using the given data of charges and distance between plates.

We know that the force between two charged plates is given by the formula:

F = \frac{kq1q2}{r^{2} }

where,

q1 and q2 are charge of the two plates

r is the distance between two plates

k is coulomb constant

Since the problem involves comparison of forces, the k values is not necessarily discussed.

Now we have to calculate force values

F = \frac{kq^{2} }{d^{2} }

W = \frac{2kq^{2} }{d^{2} }

X = \frac{kq^{2} }{4d^{2} }

Y = \frac{3kq^{2} }{d^{2} }

Z = \frac{kq^{2} }{9d^{2} }

Assume values of q = 1 and d = 2, we get

F = 0.5k

W = 0.5k

X = 0.0625k

Y = 0.75k

Z =0.025k

F and W are though same, the calculated force value shows W = 2F

Hence W is greater than F.

Therefore, the list of forces from greatest to least is Y, W, F, X, Z

Hence answer is : Y, W, X, Z

A 2.0 kg block is pulled across a horizontal surface by a 15 N force at a constant velocity. What is the force of friction actin
lianna [129]

Answer:

<em>The force of friction acting on the block has a magnitude of 15 N and acts opposite to the applied force.</em>

Explanation:

<u>Net Force </u>

The Second Newton's law states that an object acquires acceleration when an unbalanced net force is applied to it.

The acceleration is proportional to the net force and inversely proportional to the mass of the object.

If the object has zero net force, it won't get accelerated and its velocity will remain constant.

The m=2 kg block is being pulled across a horizontal surface by a force of F=15 N and we are told the block moves at a constant velocity. This means the acceleration is zero and therefore the net force is also zero.

Since there is an external force applied to the box, it must have been balanced by the force of friction, thus the force of friction has the same magnitude acting opposite to the applied force.

The force of friction acting on the block has a magnitude of 15 N opposite to the applied force.

Superman is supposed to leap tall buildings in a single bound. Suppose that he obeys the normal laws of physics in this feat. Es
lys-0071 [83]

Answer:

31.32 m/s

Explanation:

t = Time taken

u = Initial velocity

v = Final velocity

s = Displacement

a = Acceleration due to gravity = 9.81 m/s²

Let us assume the height of the Disque hall is 50 m

v^2-u^2=2as\\\Rightarrow -u^2=2as-v^2\\\Rightarrow u=\sqrt{v^2-2as}\\\Rightarrow u=\sqrt{0^2-2\times -9.81\times 50}\\\Rightarrow u=31.32\ m/s

In order to make the jump Superman's initial velocity must be greater than or equal to 31.32 m/s

A gymnast dismounts off the uneven bars in a tuck position with a radius of 0.3m (assume she is a solid sphere) and an angular v
kifflom [539]

Here we will say that there is no external torque on the system so we will have

L_i = L_f

here we know that

L_i = I_1\omega_1

where we know that

I_1 = \frac{2}{5}mr^2

Also we know that

I_2 = \frac{1}{12}mL^2

initial angular speed will be

\omega_1 = 2\pi(2rev/s) = 4\pi rad/s

now from above equation

\frac{2}{5}mr^2 (4\pi) = \frac{1}{12}mL^2 \omega

0.4(0.3)^2(4\pi) = \frac{1}{12}(1.5)^2\omega

0.452 = 0.1875 \omega

now we have

\omega = 2.41 rad/s

so final speed will be 2.41 rad/s

A 0.15 kg baseball is hit by a baseball bat. Right before it is hit, the ball’s speed is 30 m/s, and right after it is hit, the
Roman55 [17]

Answer:

Impulse will be 12 kgm/sec

So option (b) will be correct option

Explanation:

We have given mass of the baseball m = 0.15 kg

Ball speed before hit v_1=30m/sec

Ball speed after hitting  v_2=-50m/sec ( negative direction due to opposite direction )

We have to find the impulse

We know that impulse is equal; to the change in momentum

So change in momentum = m(v_1-v_2)=0.15(30-(-50))=0.15\times 80=12kgm/sec

So option (b) will be correct option
