How do I find the area and perimeter for this

Mathematics

You split it into 2 shapes.
So the simplest way to split it up is splitting it into 2 rectangles of 2x3 and 3x7

So then, the are of the whole figure would be 6+ 21 = 27 square units.

The perimeter would be 2+3+3+5+7 = 20 units.
(By the way to find the length of the black side, you add up the number on the opposite side, 2+3 = 5)

To answer this question, you would need a protractor, which is a device that measures angle. Because this is a picture, I cannot help you. I'm sorry....

What I can tell you is that the angle is less than 90 degrees.

Suppose that a cyclist began a 476
mojhsa [17]
Well, we know the cyclist left the western part going eastwards, at the same time the car left the eastern part going westwards

the distance between them is 476 miles, and they met 8.5hrs later

let's say after 8.5hrs, the cyclist has travelled "d" miles, whilst the car has travelled the slack, or 476-d, in the same 8.5hrs

we know the rate of the car is faster... so if the cyclist rate is say "r", then the car's rate is r+33.2

thus    \bf \begin{array}{lccclll}
&distance&rate&time\\
&-----&-----&-----\\
\textit{eastbound cyclist}&d&r&8.5\\
\textit{westbound car}&476-d&r+33.2&8.5
\end{array}\\\\
-----------------------------\\\\
\begin{cases}
\boxed{d}=8.5r\\\\
476-d=(r+33.2)8.5\\
----------\\
476-\boxed{8.5r}=(r+33.2)8.5
\end{cases}

solve for "r", to see how fast the cyclist was going

what about the car? well, the car's rate is r + 33.2

Find the equation of the line that is perpendicular to the x-axis and passes through the point (-10,-1). Give the full equation
Tomtit [17]

Answer:

x = -10

Step-by-step explanation:

First, determine the slope of the answer. The x-axis is a horizontal line, thus the new line must be vertical. All vertical lines are represented by the equation x = a number. That number represents the x-value of all the points the vertical line passes through.

So, since the line passes through (-10, -1), take the x-value of that point and put it into that equation. Thus, x = -10.
