\frac{75+220}{6}

= \frac{295}{6}

= 49\frac{1}{6}

Hence, the starting length of ribbon was 49\frac{1}{6} yards.

Ok so all you have to do is add 12 1/2 to 36 2/3 to get your answer.

So 12 1/2 + 36 2/3 is equal to 49 1/6
