The polynomial 2x^3 + 9x^2 + 4x - 15 represents the volume in cubic feet of a rectangular holding tank at a fish hatchery. The d
alina1380 [7]
For part A: you will get 3 linear factors (as the degree of the polynomial is 3). perform the division using (x-1) as your known factor and you will get (x-1)(2x²+11x+15). you can then factor the (2x²+11x+15) to get 2x^3 + 9x^2 + 4x - 15 = (x-1)(2x+5)(x+3)
for part B: since 2x+5 will provide the greatest value (assuming x>0) of the 3 factors, then 2x+5=13. solve to get x=4. if x is 4, then the dimensions are 3'x13'x7' [just sub 4 into the x's for each factor]
for part C: as to the graphing calculator, I don't have one. However, if you solve each linear factor for when it is 0, those values will be the x-intercepts. So your graph should cross the x-asix at 1, -5/2, and -3

A total of 1680 ounces of pet food have to be packed in 5 pound bags. How many 5 pound bags of pet food can be packed ?
mamaluj [8]
To begin with, we have to multiply 16 by 5, to determine how many ounces are in the bags. we get 80, no? we then divide 1680 by 80 to receive 21. your answer is 21.

X-2y=8
4x+y=5
Solve linear systems by Multiplying
Lisa [10]

x = 2 and y = - 3

Step-by-step explanation:

The given system of linear equations:

x - 2y = 8 ........ (1)

and 4x + y = 5 ........ (2)

To find, the values of x and y = ?

Multiplying equation (2) by 2, we get

2(4x + y) = 5 × 2

⇒ 8x + 2y = 10 ........ (3)

Adding equations (1) and (3), we get

x - 2y + (8x + 2y) = 8 + 10

⇒ x - 2y + 8x + 2y = 8 + 10

⇒ 9x = 18

⇒ x = 2

Put x = 2 in (1), we get

2 - 2y = 8

⇒ 2y =2 - 8

⇒ 2y = - 6

⇒ y = - 3

∴ x = 2 and y = - 3

Use following boxes to help yuo solve the multiplication problema use las siguientes casillas
marshall27 [118]
1) 330
2) 172
3) 172
4) 99
5) 142
You place the smaller number or single number on the left side of the box then on top of the box for the first square you would take the first number of your two digit number turn that into a whole number then the second number you would put on top of the second box then just multiply them both separately then add them together.
Example number one: first multiply 5x60 you get 300 for the first box then you multiply 5x6 you get 30 so then you would add the 300 and the 30 to get 330. Hope this helps :)
