Suppose

S=50+51+52+\cdots+100+101

At the same time, we can write

S^*=101+100+99+\cdots+51+50

Note that S=S^* (just reverse the sum). Let's pair the first terms of S and S^*, and the second, and the third, and so on:

S+S^*=(50+101)+(51+100)+(52+99)+\cdots+(100+51)+(101+50)

Now, each grouped term in the sum on the right side adds to 151. There are 52 grouped terms on that same side (because there are 50 numbers in the range of integers 51-100, plus 50 and 101), which menas

S+S^*=52\cdot151

But S=S^*, as we pointed out, so

2S=52\cdot151\implies S=\dfrac{52\cdot151}2=3926

cylinder has a height of 7 feet. Its volume is 1,406.72 cubic feet. What is the radius of the cylinder?
horsena [70]

Answer:

8 feet.

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for volume of a cylinder is r^{2} \pi h (using 3.14 for \pi). So it would be r^{2} times 7 times 3.14 which equals r^{2} times 21.98. 1406.72 divided by 21.98 is 64. The square root of 64 is 8. The radius is 8.

Gekata [30.6K]

Answer: 14x^2-93xy+60y^2 Hope that helps!

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Expand by distributing terms

(20x-12y)(x-4y)-(3x-4y)(2x+3y)

2. Use the Foil method:(a+b)(c+d)= ac+ad+bc+bd

20x^2-80xy-12yx+48y^2-(3x-4y)(2x+3y)

3. Use the Foil method : (a+b)(c+d)= ac+ad+bc+bd

20x^2-80xy-12yx+48y^2-(6x^2+9xy-8yx-12y^2)

4. Remove parentheses 20x^2-80xy-12yx+48y^2-6x^2-9xy+ 8yx+12y^2

5. Collect like terms (20x^2-6x^2)+(-80xy-12xy-9xy+8xy)+(48y^2+12y^2)

6. Simplify.

And your answer would be 14x^2-93xy+60y^2
