Suppose

S=50+51+52+\cdots+100+101

At the same time, we can write

S^*=101+100+99+\cdots+51+50

Note that S=S^* (just reverse the sum). Let's pair the first terms of S and S^*, and the second, and the third, and so on:

S+S^*=(50+101)+(51+100)+(52+99)+\cdots+(100+51)+(101+50)

Now, each grouped term in the sum on the right side adds to 151. There are 52 grouped terms on that same side (because there are 50 numbers in the range of integers 51-100, plus 50 and 101), which menas

S+S^*=52\cdot151

But S=S^*, as we pointed out, so

2S=52\cdot151\implies S=\dfrac{52\cdot151}2=3926

Mrs Omar runs the school tennis club. She has a bin of tennis balls and rackets for every 5 tennis balls in the bin there are 5
irakobra [83]

Answer:

x=y

Step-by-step explanation:

-let x be the number of tennis balls and y the number of rackets.

-We divide the number of balls by the number of rackets to find out their ratio of proportionality:

\frac{x}{y}=\frac{5}{5}=\frac{1}{1}\\\\\\=>x:y

-Hence, for each one tennis ball, there is a tennis racket.

#This is a direct linear relationship and is modeled as graphed in the attachment:

Marcus drew a quadrilateral with only 1 pair of parallel sides. Which quadrilateral did Marcus draw? parallelogram rhombus trape
SpyIntel [72]

Answer:

Trapezoid

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given that Marcus drew a quadrilateral with only 1 pair of parallel sides. We are asked to determine the quadrilateral that Marcus drew.

We know that a parallelogram has two pair of parallel sides.

We also know that rhombus is a parallelogram whose 4 sides are equal is measure and rectangle is a parallelogram with opposite sides equal.

Since parallelogram, rhombus and rectangle has two pair of parallel sides, therefore, Marcus didn't draw any of these.

We know that trapezoid has only one pair of parallel sides, therefore, Marcus drew a trapezoid.

When 1,000 children were inoculated with a certain vaccine, some developed inflammation at the site of the inoculation and some
Dima020 [189]

Answer: C

Step-by-step explanation: C. BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.

Total: 1000

20 had fever, so 1000 - 20 = 980 who did not have fever

Total who did not have fever: 980

As 880 not fever and not inflamation, 980 - 880 = 100

So, 100 had inflamation but not fever.

We need the 2 statements and they alone do not answer the question
