6 friends got sherbert.

First you have to make the denominators the same

Ex: 2/3 = 8/12
1/6 = 2/12

Then, after you have the same denominators you subtract

Ex: 8/12 - 2/12 = 6

That means 6 friends got sherbert
( sorry I'm not very good at explaining )
