Primase is the enzyme that synthesizes small fragments of RNA in the strand lagging in DNA replication. The primase does not need a primer to synthesize and the RNA residues are removed by DNA polymerase I, due to their exonuclease capacity and filled with DNA fragments also by DNA Pol I. Finally, all these discontinuous DNA segments are linked by a ligase.

Protists with the capabilities to perform photosynthesis and to absorb nutrients from dead organisms are called ______________.
alisha [4.7K]

Answer:

mixotrophs

Explanation:

Myxotrophism or myxotrophy, in biology, is the name given to the quality of the living being with autotrophic and heterotrophic characteristics. That is, it is capable of producing its own food from carbon dioxide fixation (through photosynthesis or chemosynthesis), but it can also feed on other inorganic or organic compounds. Mixotrophic can be either eukaryotic or prokaryotic.

Carnivorous plants are commonly cited as myxotrophic organisms in the wrong way because all their food comes from photosynthesis. These plants only depend in part on the nitrogen contained in animal proteins that they digest. This dependence occurs because the carnivorous plant is native to areas with poor, soggy soil, scarce of nitrates, essential for the synthesis of the chlorophyll molecule.

What problems would you expect to observe in an ecosystem without secondary consumers? Be sure to answer this question in paragr
nika2105 [10]

If there weren't secondary consumers, then the primary consumers population would increase. Also, plant life would be threatened, which would cause increased difficulty for primary consumers to survive after they overpopulate. So the population increases in producer (and probably producer diversity) and decreases in secondary, tertiary and higher order consumer populations.

kramer

Answer:

Yes! The correct answer is smog production

Explanation:

Actually, Smog refers to heavily stagnant air formed by the mixture of nitrogen oxides with hydrocarbons released to the atmosphere from the exhaust of automobiles.

Thus, smog production is ABSOLUTELY A NON-ORGANIC process i.e it does not involve any activity of living organisms like microorganisms. So, all the processes mentioned above involved microorganisms EXCEPT SMOG PRODUCTION
