From my research, the heart is said to beat up to four hours after being taken out of a donors body.

A heart will, on average, continue to beat for about 4 hours after being removed from a body, although it must be kept in a cooler and be carefully treated as to not damage it. Any type of trauma to the heart, which is very fragile, could jeopardize it continuing to beat and save another life. <span />
