Identify the type of energy described in each sentence
Viefleur [7K]

Lipids to fat: Chemical, since ingestion is in process to make this change possible.

Hat: Gravitational, since gravity causes objects to pull toward each other, here it is the Earth and the hat.

Wave of water: Mechanical, since the movement of energy is visible and clearly touchable.

Burner to kettle: Thermal, since heat is involved.

Power plant: Nuclear, since splitting atoms is part of the process called nuclear fission.

Nerve: Electrical, since nerves function by sending electrical pulses.

Sun to plant: Radiant, since the sun's electromagnetic waves/radiation are being transferred.

1. Identify the roles (producer, primary consumer, secondary consumer, or decomposer) of the hare and the wolf in the simulated
Bogdan [553]
Hare: The Hare is the primary consumer because it eats and collects energy from the grass which gets it from the sun.

Wolf: The wolf is secondary due to the fact that it eats the primary consumer hare.

Cultures of a bacterial species were incubated on the shelf of a refrigerator, out on a lab bench top, on the shelf of a 37° C i
Leya [2.2K]

Answer:

The correct term to be used for this specie is; Psychrophiles

Explanation:

Psychrophiles are extremophilic organisms that are capable of growth and reproduction in low temperatures ranging from -20°C to +10°C. they are found in places that are permanently cold, such as the polar regions and the deep sea. they can be contrasted with thermophiles hwhich are organisms that thrive at unusually high temperatures psychrophile is greek for "cold loving". many such organisms are bacteria or archae but some eukaryotes such as lichen, sonw algae, fungi and wingless midges are also classified as psychrophiles.

Need a hypothesis for “How are proteins built from RNA”
Dima020 [189]

Hi!

Hypothesis:

Proteins are built from the translation of messenger RNA (mRNA) molecules

RNA, or ribonucleic acid, is a structure that is similar to DNA, except that it exists as a single strand, consists of a ribose sugar instead of a deoxyribose sugar and has the base uracil (U) instead of thyamine (T).

From DNA to RNA

RNA is generated through transcription of the DNA molecule, resulting in a complementary molecule of the template DNA strand. For instance, if the sequence of the DNA was:

ATGCGCAGTTATTGCGAT

The corresponding RNA sequence will be:

UACGCGUCAAUAACGCUA (complementary with U instead of T)

From RNA to Protein

The RNA molecule in our case is known as the mRNA. After transcription the mRNA molecule is transported to the cytoplasm, where a ribosome binds to it for another molecule to translate the sequence. This translation is mediated by an RNA molecule known as the tRNA molecule which enters the ribosome to catalyze the reaction.

These molecules identify a sequence of 3 bases (codon) and for specific codon sequences, the tRNA allocates specific amino acid. For instance, for the codon UCA, the tRNA will allocate a Serine residue.

This translation process starts at specific three base sequences, known as start codons, and terminates at specific three base sequences known as stop codons.

In this manner, a sequence of amino acids respective to the mRNA codon sequence is synthesized, and as we identify proteins as chains of amino acids that are covalently linked together through peptide bonds, we can clearly see that proteins are built directly from RNA, and indirectly from DNA.

Hope this helps!
