Muscle color is related to muscle specialization because it indicates whether muscles are used more for aerobic or anaerobic metabolism. Aerobically respiring muscles that do work over a long period of time have more red oxidative fibers, while anaerobically respiring muscles that do work in bursts have more white glycolitic fibers.

Red muscles (extensor muscles) have large amount of myoglobin (protein transporting oxygen). Red muscles have slow and sustained contraction.
White muscles have less amount of myoglobin than red muscles and less mitochondria. White muscles have fast contraction. They perform fast work for short period of time, red perform sustained work for prolonged period.

Refer to the picture below. This is an example of:
Sedbober [7]

Answer:

The answer is a. homologous structures

Explanation:

Homologous Structures:

Structures that have similar anatomy or similar structure but have different functions are called homologous structures.

These structures indicate shared ancestry between the animals in question. This means that the structures may be used for different functions but they are encoded by same or similar genes.

The bones in the picture perform quite different functions and they might look different from the outside but as we look closer, the bone structure and joints are similar. This shows that all of these animals evolved from a common ancestor.

Which of the following statements concerning prokaryotic cells are true? Check all that apply.
Firdavs [7]

Answer:

They are typically smaller than eukaryotic cells.

The DNA of a prokaryotic cell is contained in the nucleoid.

Explanation:

There are several ways in which prokaryotic cells are different from eukaryotic cells. Firstly, they are generally smaller in size, their organelles are not membrane bound, and they have no nucleus. They, however, share commonalities with eukaryotic cells including the presence of a bilipid plasma membrane, presence of ribosomes and DNA.
