We want to find F U G, since the universal set is defined as such.

We can't directly add n(F) + n(G) since that would include duplicates from F and G, therefore we subtract by n(F ⋂ G), since n(F ⋂ G) gives what F and G share in common, removing the so called duplicate.

Therefore, Universal Set = n(F U G) = n(F) + n(G) - n(F ⋂ G) = 97+79-22=154 which is the option C.

(41 – 4) + 18 x 3 = 1
Rudik [331]

Answer:

91

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that, the sum of the exterior angles of a polygon is 360 i.e., (x+3) + (2x+1) +(3x-1) = 360 i.e., x+2x+3x+3+1-4 = 360 i.e., 6x = 360 Therefore, x = 60 Now, x+3 = 60+3 =63 2x+1 = 2*60 +1 =120 + 1 = 121 3x-4 = 3*60 - 4 = 180 - 4 = 176 The exterior angles are 63, 121 and 176

The sum of Mary and Al's age is 48. Twelve years ago, Mary was twice as old as Al.
QveST [7]
Let us denote the years of Mary with M and the years that Al have with A.
We know that the sum of Mary and Al's age is 48. So, we can write:
M+A=48 (1)
We also know that twelve years ago, Mary was twice as old as Al. So we can write:
M-12=2*A (2)
From the first equation (1): M=48-A
Let put this in the second equation:
48-A-12=2A
36=3A
A=12
M=48-12=36
