Your proportion would look like     3    5            you would cross multiply the 5
                                                          48  x
and 48 to get 240 ...then multiply 3 and x to get 3x .you will come up with  3x=240   .you will divide 3 and 240 to get 80.

so she would 0 if she is paid the same rate.

For what value of the variable will the expression 8b−27 be equal to the following:<br> 5
qaws [65]

Answer:

We need to find the value of b to make 8b - 27 be equal to 5, so:

8b - 27 = 5

We solve the equation:

8b = 5 + 27

8b = 32

We divide both sides by 8:

b = 32/8 = 4

So now, we know that b=4, and we can verify:

8*4 - 27 = 5

32 - 27 = 5 TRUE

Error Analysis: Pedro compares 7/33 and 2/11. He incorrectly says 7/33 &lt; 2/11 because 4.71 &lt; 5.50. Compare 7/33 and 2/11.
madreJ [45]
He divided the wrong way.  7/33 = .2121.....and 2/11 = .1818...., so actually 2/11 < 7/33
