M * n = a * c
Since a and b are positive and c is negative.
So, a * c is negative which means that m * n is negative, i.e. m is positive, n is negative.

Also m + n = b and since b is positive, then |m| > |n|.

Therefore, option C is the correct answer.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Wrong. I just took the test and it's D.

Here's why:

when ax2-[mx+nx]-c

m and n need to have a positive and a negative coefficient.

if m is positive and a n is negative then n needs to be greater than m so the solution will also be negative to satisfy the need for [mx+nx] to be negative.

When solving negative one over three (x − 15) = −4, what is the correct sequence of operations?
iogann1982 [59]
-1/3(x - 15) = -4

step 1 : multiply both sides by -3, step 2 : add 15 to both sides

because when u multiply both sides by -3, this cancels out the -1/3 on the left side leaving u with : x - 15 = -4 * -3.....x - 15 = 12.....and then u would add 15 to both sides....giving u : x = 12 + 15.....x = 27

Find y when x=4, if y=7 when x=14
ycow [4]

Answer: y = 2 <em>when x = 4</em>

i looked for a correlation in the given problem, and i realized that "y" will equal half of whatever "x" equals. so <em>when x = 4</em>, y = 2.

Answer:

y = \dfrac{1}{2}x-4

Step-by-step explanation:

<h2>Equation of line in slope y-intercept form:</h2>

       \sf slope = m =\dfrac{1}{2}\\\\Point (2, -3) ; x_1 = 2 \ \& y_1 = -3\\\\\boxed{\bf y - y_1 =m(x -x_1)}

         \sf y - [-3] = \dfrac{1}{2}(x - 2)\\\\y + 3 =  \dfrac{1}{2}x - 2*\dfrac{1}{2}\\\\y + 3 = \dfrac{1}{2}x-1\\\\

                \sf y = \dfrac{1}{2}x - 1 - 3\\\\ y =\dfrac{1}{2}x-4

1/4(x+3)+3/8x=13/4 SOLVE FOR X
larisa86 [58]
1. First I turned the fractions into decimals, just to make things easier for me.2. That gave me => (.25x)+(.75)+(.375)=(3.25)
3. Then, I combined like terms and move my equation around; so, that gave me (.25x) = (3.25) - (.75) - (.375) and when I solve the right side of the equation it gives me
(.25x) = (2.125)
4. After combining like terms and simplifying (the way I did in step 3), I will divide both sides by .25, to get the value of X alone; so, my equation then looks like => x=8.5
