Water is drawn from a well in a bucket tied to the end of a rope whose other end wraps around a solid cylinder of mass 50 kg and
sleet_krkn [62]

Answer:

\alpha=78.4\ rad.s^{-2}

Explanation:

Given:

  • mass of solid cylinder, m=50\ kg
  • diameter of cylinder, d=0.25\ m
  • mass of bucket of water, m_w=20\ kg

<em>When the bucket is released to fall in the well, it fall under the acceleration due to gravity.</em>

We have formula for angular acceleration as:

\alpha=\frac{g}{r}

where:

g = acceleration due to gravity

r = radius of the cylinder

\aplha=\frac{9.8}{0.125}

\alpha=78.4\ rad.s^{-2}

In a thermally isolated environment, you add ice at 0°C and steam at 100°C. (a) Determine the amount of steam condensed (in g) a
kondor19780726 [428]

Answer:

 a) 11.2 g

   b) 3.73 g.

Explanation:

a) If we assume temperature of mixture to be 100°C , heat released by steam will be 11.2 x 540 = 6048 cals and heat gain gained by will be

79 x 80 + 79 x 1 x 100 = 14220 cals . Since former heat is less than later heat ,water will not be warmed up to 100°C. Let equilibrium temperature be t .

Heat gained by water = 79 x 80 + 79 x 1 x t = 11.2 x 540 + 11.2( 100 - t )

t = 9.4°

amount of steam condensed = 11.2 g.

b) In this case, whole of water will be warmed up to 100°C as steam is much .heat required by water to warm up to boiling point

= 11.2 x 80 + 11.2 x 100 = 2016 cals

amount of steam condensed =  2016 / 540 = 3.73 g .

Which statements describe science? Check all that apply. It lacks a formal process. It involves observation. It involves experim
scoray [572]

Answer:

It involves observation

It involves experimentation

It is supported by evidence

Explanation:

Science can be described as a system of knowledge based on the understanding of the natural world. The subject of science requires the scientific method - a chronological series of steps that have to be followed while trying to understand events in the natural world. These steps are:

  • <em>observation</em>
  • <em>formulation of hypothesis</em>
  • <em>testing of the hypothesis by experimentation</em>
  • <em>conclusion based on available evidence from the experiment</em>

Hence, science involves <u>observation</u>, <u>experimentation</u>, and <u>it is supported by evidence</u>.

A particle moves along a path described by y=Ax^3 and x = Bt, where tt is time. What are the units of A and B?
Sergeu [11.5K]

Answer:

In a nutshell, units of A and B are \frac{1}{[l]^{2}} and \frac{[l]}{[t]}, respectively.

Explanation:

From Dimensional Analysis we understand that x and y have length units ([l]) and t have time units ([t]). Then, we get that:

[l] = A\cdot [l]^{3} (Eq. 1)

[l] = B\cdot [t] (Eq. 2)

Now we finally clear each constant:

A = \frac{[l]}{[l]^{3}}

A = \frac{1}{[l]^{2}}

B = \frac{[l]}{[t]}

In a nutshell, units of A and B are \frac{1}{[l]^{2}} and \frac{[l]}{[t]}, respectively.
