A 5.0-kg block of wood is placed on a 2.0-kg aluminum frying pan. How much heat is required to raise the temperature of both the
Shalnov [3]

Heat required to raise the temperature of a given system is

Q = ms\Delta T

here we know that

m = mass

s = specific heat capacity

\Delta T = change in temperature

now as we know that

mass of wood = 5 kg

mass of aluminium pan = 2 kg

change in temperature = 45 - 20 = 25 degree C

specific heat capacity of wood = 1700 J/kg C

specific heat capacity of aluminium = 900 J/kg C

now here we will find the total heat to raise the temperature of both

Q = m_1s_1\Delta T_1 + m_2s_2\Delta T_2

Q = 5 * 1700 * 25 + 2 * 900 * 25

Q = 212500 + 45000

Q = 257500 J

So heat required to raise the temperature of the system is 257500 J

Explain how an electrical wet cell functions.
Fynjy0 [20]
The chemical reaction causes electricity to flow through the terminals to the load attached. Some of the acid in the battery remains on the plates as it flows through. When the battery is recharged the acid is returned to the liquid solution to provide more power later.

A bus traveling in a straight line goes 15 miles in 18 minutes. What is its average speed in miles per hour?
Vikki [24]

Explanation:

Distance travelled by bus(s)=15 miles

Time taken(t)=18 minutes

=18/60 hours=0.3hours

now

average speed=distance travelled /time taken

=15/0.3 =50 miles per hour

g Only something with no mass (such as light) can move at the speed of light. b. Theoretically, a particle with mass can only mo
Minchanka [31]

Answer:

true a and c

Explanation:

The theory of special relativity is formulated under two postulates

* that the laws of physics are the same in all inertial systems

* that the speed of light in the vacuum is constant for all systems

with these postulates the energy of a particular is

        E = K + m c²

where the last term is called energy at rest

a) True. only when m = 0 the energy of the particle is scientific energy

be False. Nothing can go faster than light

c) Right. In a material medium the speed of light depends on the measurement reference frame

d) False For a particle of finite mass the energy must be greater than the energy at rest
