Taken from a dictionary: "in any undisturbed sequence of rocks deposited in layers, the youngest layer is on top and the oldest on bottom, each layer being younger than the one beneath it and older than the one above it."

The law of superposition in a basic sense states that the oldest in an order will be towards the back or bottom, and the youngest near the front or top. In rock layers that means that the oldest rock will be the furthest below the surface and the youngest will be right on the top, or the highest up. The only exception would be an igneous intrusion, those are always the you best “layers” regardless of order

How many moles of nitrate are dissolved in water if 6.15 mole strontium nitrate dissolve?
pashok25 [27]

The number of moles of nitrate dissolved in water if 6.15 mole of strontium nitrate is :   12.3 moles

<u>Given data :</u>

Moles of strontium nitrate = 6.15 moles

<h3>Ionization of Strontium Nitrate </h3>

When strontium nitrate ( Sr(NO_{3} )_{2} ) is placed in water it will dissociates into its ions because strontium nitrate is an ionic compound.

Next step : Represent the ionization of strontium nitrate

Sr ( NO_{3} )_{2}  (aq) --- > Sr^{2+} (aq)  + 2NO_{3} ^{-} (aq)

From the Stoichiometry of the chemical reaction

I mole of strontium nitrate =  2 moles of Nitrate ions

6.15 mole of strontium nitrate = 2 * 6.15

                                                 = 12.3 moles of Nitrate

Hence we can conclude that The number of moles of nitrate dissolved in water if 6.15 mole of strontium nitrate is :   12.3 moles.

The monomer of poly(vinyl chloride) has the formula C2H3Cl. If there are 1,565 repeat units in a single chain of the polymer, wh
monitta

Answer:

\large \boxed{9.780 \times 10^{4}\text{ u}}

Explanation:

The molecular mass of a monomer unit is:

C₂H₃Cl = 2×12.01 + 3×1.008 + 35.45 = 24.02 + 3.024 + 35.45 = 62.494 u

For 1565 units,

\text{Molecular mass} = \text{1565 units} \times \dfrac{\text{62.494 u}}{\text{1 unit }} = \mathbf{9.780 \times 10^{4}}\textbf{ u}\\\\\text{The molecular mass of the chain is $\large \boxed{\mathbf{9.780 \times 10^{4}}\textbf{ u}}$}
