The line x = -5 is a vertical line, therefore the line perpendicular to this line is the horizontal line of the form y = a.

We know that it passes through the point (1, π) → x = 1, y = π.

Therefore we have answer: A) y = π.

Compare the models for 1/3 and 2/6 how dose the number of parts relate to the sizes of the parts
Elanso [62]
There is no model attached, but, we can imagine a model.
Take a whole pizza.
There’s six slices and you have three friends.
You want it to be even and so each friend gets two slices.
But, originally, the pizza could’ve been sliced into three bigger pieces anyways.

Through: (3, 5) parallel to y=3x-1
marysya [2.9K]

Answer:  y = 3x - 4  will be the parallel line to the line  y= 3x -1

Step-by-step explanation:

Parallel lines have the same slope but different y intercepts, so using the equation given , use the formula y=mx +b where m is the slope and b is the

y - intercept ,and input the x and y coordinate to solve for b. Input the same slope into the formula because they will have the same slope.

5= 3(3) + b

5 =  9  + b

-9    -9

b = -4

Since the y intercept is negative 4, the equation will be y = 3x -4

What substitution should be used to rewrite 6(x + 5)2 + 5(x + 5) – 4 = 0 as a quadratic equation? u = (x + 5) u = (x – 5) u = (x
Pachacha [2.7K]
6(x+5)² + 5(x+5)-4 = 0

(x+5)(x+5) = x(x+5)+5(x+5) = x² + 5x + 5x + 25 = x² + 10x + 25

6(x²+10x+25) + 5(x+5) - 4 = 0
6x² + 60x + 150 + 5x + 25 - 4 = 0
6x² + 60x + 5x + 150 + 25 - 4 = 0
6x² + 65x + 171 = 0

u = (x + 5)
