Determine whether each sequence is arithmetic or geometric. Sequence 1: –10, 20, –40, 80, ... Sequence 2: 15, –5, –25, –45, ...

Sequence 1 is arithmetic and Sequence 2 is geometric. Both sequences are geometric. Sequence 2 is arithmetic and Sequence 1 is geometric. Both sequences are arithmetic.

1) Is geometric
2) Is arithmetic

How do I know 1 is geometric? If you divide the second number by the one before it and get the same answer when going through the list of numbers it is geometric..

For example:

<span>–10, 20, –40, 80

20 / -10 =  -2
-40 / 20 = -2
80 / -40 = -2

They all have -2 when dividing them so it is geometric.
</span>

How do I know 2 is arithmetic? If you get the difference of the second number from the number that is before it and it has the same output, it is arithmetic.

For example:

<span>15, –5, –25, –45
</span>
(-5) - 15 =  = -20
(-25) - (-5) = -20
(-45) -  (-25) = -20

The arithmetic rule does not work with 1 so 1 is just geometric and the geometric rule does not work with 2 so 2 is just arithmetic. Your answer would be:

<span>Sequence 2 is arithmetic and Sequence 1 is geometric</span>

1 Mrs. Castro has 100 spoon and 80 forks if she put them in buckets what is the biggest number of spoon or forks that bucket wil
Yuri [45]

Answer:

10

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, we want to get the biggest number of spoon or forks that the bucket will have

What we have to do here is to simply find the greatest common factor of 100 and 80

Finding the greatest common factor of both will

give the biggest number of spoon or forks that the bucket will have

Mathematically, the greatest common factor of 80 and 100 is 10

In 24 hours one set of twins drank 16 bottles of formula. Each bottle holds 4 fl oz. How many cups of formula did the set of twi
aev [14]

Answer:

16 cups of formula

Step-by-step explanation:

you take 16 (<em>the amount of bottles)</em> and multiply it by 4 (<em>the amount one bottle holds</em>)

which gets you 64 then you multiply that by 2 (<em> the amount of children</em>)

which gets you 128

then you divide by 8, because there are <em>8 fl oz in a cup</em>

which gets you 16

16 cups of formula

Why do we turn this into a positive number -6 -(3)=
stich3 [128]

When you multiply a negative number by a positive number then the product is always negative.

When you multiply two negative numbers or two positive numbers then the product is always positive.

This is similar to the rule for adding and subtracting: two minus signs become a plus, while a plus and a minus become a minus. In multiplication and division, however, you calculate the result as if there were no minus signs and then look at the signs to determine whether your result is positive or negative. Two quick multiplication examples:

<span><span>3⋅(−4)=−12</span><span>3⋅(−4)=−12</span></span>

3 times 4 equals 12. Since there is one positive and one negative number, the product is negative 12.

<span><span>(−3)⋅(−4)=12</span><span>(−3)⋅(−4)=12</span></span>

Now we have two negative numbers, so the result is positive.

Turning to division, you may recall that you can confirm the answer you get by multiplying the quotient by the denominator. If you answer is correct then the product of these two numbers should be the same as the numerator. For example,

<span><span><span>123</span>=4</span><span><span>123</span>=4</span></span>

In order to check whether 4 is the correct answer, we multiply 3 (the denominator) by 4 (the quotient):

<span><span>3⋅4=12</span><span>3⋅4=12</span></span>

What happens when you divide two negative numbers? For example,

<span><span><span><span>(−12)</span><span>(−3)</span></span>=?</span><span><span><span>(−12)</span><span>(−3)</span></span>=?</span></span>

For the denominator (-3) to become the numerator (-12), you would have to multiply it by 4, therefore the quotient is 4.

So, the quotient of a negative and a positive number is negative and, correspondingly, the quotient of a positive and a negative number is also negative. We can conclude that:

When you divide a negative number by a positive number then the quotient is negative.

When you divide a positive number by a negative number then the quotient is also negative.

When you divide two negative numbers then the quotient is positive.

The same rules hold true for multiplication. and the answer is to put a -6 - -3 =3

the average daily maximum temperature is 21.85 Celsius and the average daily minimum temperature is -4.7 Celsius the average dai
WITCHER [35]

Hello.

To find the answer you will have to add them then divide by 2.

So if you add 21.85+-4.7 you will get the answer of 17.15.

Then divide by two to get 8.575

The answer is: 8.575 Celsius
