You can complete the square on x and y terms to find the radius:-

x^2 + 8x + y^2 - 22y - 88 = 0
(x + 4)^2 - 16 + (y - 11)^2 - 121 - 88 = 0
(x + 4)^2 + (y - 11)^2 = 121 + 88 + 16 = 225
(x + 4)^2 + (y - 11)^2 = 225
compare this with the standard form:-
( x - a)^2 + (y - b)^2  = r^2   where r = radius
So  radius = sqrt225 = 15

Diameter = 2*15  = 30 Answer

What is an equation of the line that passes through the points (4,-1) and (8,5)?
fiasKO [112]

Answer:

y=3/2x-7

Step-by-step explanation:

the equation of the line for slope-intercept form is y=mx+b, where  m is the slope and b is the y intercept.

we are given two points: (4,-1) and (8,5)

the equation for slope is (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

label the points:

x1=4

y1=-1

x2=8

y2=5

now substitute into the equation:

m=(5--1)/(8-4)

m=6/4

m=3/2

the slope of the line is 3/2

here is our equation so far:

y=3/2x+b

we need to find b

since the equation will pass through the points, we can substitute either one into the equation to find b

let's use (4,-1) as an example

substitute into the equation

-1=3/2(4)+b

-1=6+b

-7=b

the y intercept is -7

so the equation is y=3/2x-7

hope this helps!

Ryan completed 1/8 of his test in 2/5 hour. If Ryan’s rate stayed the same, how much of his test was finished in one hour
IceJOKER [234]

Answer:

5/16

Step-by-step explanation:

In 5/2 the time, we expect that 5/2 × 1/8 = 5/16 of the test will be complete.

_____

5/2 × (2/5 h) = 1 h

∫(x+1)/(x2+2)2x−3dx need help with this question. can you show the process
kenny6666 [7]

do you need to include the wiggle infront of the first bracket? if not;

(x+1) ÷ [(x^2+2) x (2x-3dx)]

x^2 x 2x = 2x^3

x^2 x -3dx = -3dx^3

2 x 2x = 4x

2 x -3dx = - 6dx

i cant find a way to make it equal 0 so i think the answer is just

x+1 over 2x^3 - 3dx^3 + 4x - 6dx as a fraction
