For all the answers I will assume that all buttons both green and blue must be used.

For the first question we will start by searching all the divisors of 16;

16: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16
We will think about the numbers of green buttons that can be used as the divisors of 16. We will check if the dividend of 16 to its divisors is a divisor for 56.

1 => 16 vests with 1 green button 56/16 = 3.5
2=> 8 vests with 2 green buttons 56/8 = 7
4=>  4 vests with 4 green buttons 56/4 = 14
8=> 2 vests with 8 green buttons 56/2 = 28
16=> 1 vest with 16 green buttons 56/1 = 56

From all the above results we concluded that Lee can make:
8 vests with 2 green buttons and 7 blue buttons
4 vests with 4 green buttons and 14 blue buttons
2 vests with 8 green buttons and 28 blue buttons
1 vest with 16 green buttons and 56 blue buttons

For the second question, the greatest number of vests represents the greatest common divider of 16 and 56.
First, we break into prime factors
16 = 2^4
56 = 2^3 *7
The greatest common divider is 8.
Lee can make 8 vests and each one will have 2 green buttons and 7 blue buttons (16/8=2 and 56/8=7)

Use the interactive number line to help complete each exercise. Place points at -1 and -4. Complete the inequality: -1 -4. Place
Sliva [168]

Question might not be complete

Answer and explanation:

The signs -1 and -4 lie on the negative side of the number line, left of zero(positive right of zero).

The opposites for each number would be +1 and +4 which would all be on the right side of zero on the number line

Inequality signs or statements to represent greater and lesser number on the number line using the numbers above as examples would be:

-1<+1

-4<-1

+1>-1

+1<4

-1-4<1+4

Numbers that don't have signs attached to them are automatically positive numbers

Type the correct answer in the box. Use numerals instead of words. If necessary, use / for the fraction bar.
pashok25 [27]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The two equation given which are in two variables are

1. y = x²-2 x -1 9

2. y + 4 x=5

Writing equation 2 as→y = 5 -4 x

Substituting the value of y in equation 1

⇒ 5 - 4 x = x² - 2 x - 19

⇒x² - 2 x + 4 x -19 -5=0

⇒ x² + 2 x -24=0

⇒x² + 6 x - 4 x - 24=0→→→[Breaking the middle term i.e term containing x]

⇒ x(x+6) -4(x+6)=0

⇒(x-4)(x+6)=0

⇒x-4=0 ∧ x+6=0

⇒x = 4     ∧    x= -6

Put x=4 in equation 2,

y + 4 ×4=5

y + 16=5

y = 5-16

y= -11

As one solution is (-6, 29), The other solution of the system of equation is (4, -11).
