In a way, you could consider the media to be an interest group,

interest groups try to defend a cause. they work toward a cause mainly by convincing people that they are right and lobbying politions and spreading propaganda. the proaganda can be slanted to support a certain viewpoint

media is just any way to spread information. it can be also slanted to support a certain viewpoint

interest groups can use media to spread propagana. however, media can also be used to spread 'anti-propaganda' that is contrary to their cause
they compete to convice people that their truth is more true than the other truth

nignag [31]

Answer:

Latent

Explanation:

The primary goal of the welfare system was to provide temporary assistance to families in need. Unfortunately, the system has also fostered dependency. Functionalists would call this dependency a latent function of the welfare system.

Latent functions is the unintended functions of a phenomenon in a social system, For example, the welfare system was intended to provide temporary assistance and not foster dependence by its beneficiaries. However, dependency on aids by beneficiaries instead of working for survival has been a latent function of the welfare system.

Alex Ar [27]

Answer:

Non-participant observation

Explanation:

Non-participant observation is the observation in which a researcher observes his participants for his study with their knowledge. But the researcher will not take an active role in the research. This research has been criticized many times. In observation, people behave differently every time. Data collection will be invalid. Hawthorne effect is the example of non-participant observation.

Thus Joe is going to study how prisoners are behaving in the therapy session and prisoners don't know someone is observing them is the example of the study of non-participant observation.
