The examined life is not worth living is a famous dictum that has been used by Socrates. It was related to the thinking of Socrates about death and commitment to fulfill his goals. These words were used by Socrates when he has chosen death than exile. It was the choice of death in face of another alternative. Socrates believed that the love for wisdom is an important pursuit for all the above else. His examination of life in this way spilled out in the life of others, such that they examine their own life, but even he knew all were die one day as say that life was not worth living in his philosophy.
