The great Roman Poet, Lucretius wrote, "Things cannot be born from nothing, cannot when begottend brought back to nothing." This

statement became an accepted theory as a result of the work of the chemist, Lavoisier in the 18th century. This is the law of conservation of matter. Similarly, the law of conservation of energy is an important law in physics. Can you discuss the validity of the conservation of energy in terms of potential (gravitational or elastic) and kinetic energy by giving real-life applications

Explanation:

When a swing is at its maximum height, the potential energy, associated with the height, is maximum. At this point its speed is zero, so the kinetic energy is zero. As the swing descends, having less height, the potential energy decreases and the kinetic energy increases. When it passes through the position with the minimum height, the potential energy is minimal and the kinetic energy is maximum.

This is true in the ideal case, in which there is no friction due to air resistance.  When friction is taken into account, implies that the swing stops gradually, since its energy is converted into thermal energy

A capacitor is connected to an ac supply. increasing the frequency of the supply increases the current through the capacitor

A capacitor is a device for storing electrical energy that consists of two insulated conductors in close proximity. The parallel-plate capacitor is a simple example of such a storage device.

A capacitor (also known as a condenser) is a two-terminal passive electrical component that stores energy electrostatically in an electric field. Practical capacitors come in a variety of shapes and sizes, but they all have at least two electrical conductors (plates) separated by a dielectric (i.e., insulator).

Capacitors exist in various shapes and sizes, and their value is measured in farads (F). Capacitors are utilized in both alternating current and direct current systems.

The ground heats the air through what
Tema [17]

Explanation:

The atmosphere is heated in several ways - heat from the core of the Earth, by radiation from the Sun, conduction from contact with warm land and water, convection to even out the temperature and by absorption of infrared radiation from the warm land and water. The core of the Earth is very hot.

Find the noise level of a sound having an intensity of 1.5x10^-14W/m^2 given I0=10^12 W/m2
Llana [10]

Answer:

Noise level will be -18.2 watt

So option (b) will be correct answer

Explanation:

We have given sound intensity I=1.5\times 10^{-14}w/m^2

And threshold intensity I_0=\times 10^{-12}w/m^2 ( in question it is given as 10^{12}w/m^2 but its standard value is 10^{-12}w/m^2 )

Now noise level  =10log\frac{I}{I_0}=10log\frac{1.5\times 10^{-14}}{10^{-12}}=10log0.015-18.23

So the noise level will be -18.2

So option (b) will be correct answer

Radioactivity is a part of our earth - it has existed all along. Naturally occurring radioactive materials are present in its crust, the floors and walls of our homes, schools, or offices and in the food we eat and drink. There are radioactive gases in the air we breathe. Our own bodies - muscles, bones, and tissue - contain naturally occurring radioactive elements.
