The domain of f(x) = -6x^2 - 10x + 13 is all real values.

For the range f(x) = -6x^2 - 10x + 13 written in vertex form is -6(x^2 + 5/3x - 13/6) = -6(x^2 + 5/3x + 25/36 - 13/6 - 25/36) = -6(x + 5/6)^2 - 6(-103/36) = -6(x + 5/6)^2 + 103/6
Range is all real values less than or equal to 103/6

For what values of the variable are the following expressions defined?
Rom4ik [11]

Answer:

  • The Expression will be defined if the denominator is not equal to 0 since any number divided by 0 is undefined.
  • Therfore our main priority here is to check the denominator only because it's the only part that can make the expression undefined
  • the expression will be defined for all real numbers (a) BUT 3+a must not equal to 0 therfore (a) can be all real numbers but must never be equal to -3

Step-by-step explanation:

  • a \: is \: an \: element \: of \: all \: real \: numbers \: but \: not \: not \: equal \: to \:  -3

an ornithologist studying the flight of birds measured the efficiency for parakeets flying at various speed in a descending flig
borishaifa [10]

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  1. when s = 12 mph     t =0.18  let   (s,t) or (a,b) = (12,0.18)
  2. when s = 22 mph    t = 0.23 s     (s,t) or (a,b) =(22,0.23)
  3. when s = 30 mph     t = 0.15 s     (s,t) or (a,b) =(30,0.15)

we know the general format of Quadratic equation to be

= ax²+bx+c=0

Step 1 :

when the birds pass through a,b (12,0.18) we cane give the expression as

= ax²+bx+c=0

= 12x² + 0.18x + c= 0

it can also be written as

s = ut + 1/2 at²  = 0.18t +( 1/2) a(0.18)²

step 2 :

through points (22,0.23)

= 22x² + 0.23x + c = 0

s = ut + 1/2 at²  = 0.23t + (1/2) a(0.23)²

Step 3 :

through points (30,0.15)

= 30x² + 0.15x + c = 0

s = ut + 1/2 at²

= 0.15 u +(1/2)  a(0.15)²

Answer:

  6x^2 +64x yd²

Step-by-step explanation:

The total horizontal width is ...

  w = (x -2) +(3x) = 4x -2 . . . yards

So, the width of the downward-extending leg at right is ...

  (4x -2) -(2x -2) = 2x

The total vertical height is ...

  10 yds + 40 yds = 50 yds

So, the height of the downward-extending leg at right is ...

  50 -3x . . . yards

__

Then the empty rectangle at upper right has an area of ...

  A = LW = (3x yds)(10 yds) = 30x yd²

and the empty rectangle at lower left has an area of ...

  A = LW = (2x -2 yds)(50 -3x yds) = -6x^2 +106x -100 yd²

__

The total area is the product of overall width and overall height, less the areas of the two empty rectangles:

  A = (4x -2 yds)(50 yds) -30x yd² -(-6x^2 +106x -100) yd²

  A = 6x^2 +64x yd² . . . . . area of the proposed parking lot
