Sara is a drummer in her school is marching band she wants to make a geometrically similar model of a snare drum for her stuffed

animals. To find the dimensions she should use to make a cylindrical model with a scale of 1 : 4, Sara measures the radius and height of a snare drum and multiplies each dimension by 1/2. Which statement is true?
A. A cylinder with Sara’s dimensions will be geometrically similar, and the scale factor will be 1:4

B. A cylinder with Sara’s dimensions will be geometrically similar, but the scale factor will be 1:2

C. A cylinder with Sara’s dimensions will be geometrically similar, but the scale factor will be 1:8

Answer:

Option B.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the radius of the snare drum = r

and radius of the model = R

Ratio of the dimensions of the snare drum and the model = 1 : 4

So, \frac{r}{R}=\frac{1}{4}

Now as per question, dimensions of the snare drum is multiplied by a scale factor of \frac{1}{2}

Radius of the snare drum = \frac{r}{2}

Ratio of the radius of the snare drum and cylindrical model ,

\frac{\frac{r}{2}}{R} =\frac{1}{4}

\frac{r}{2R}=\frac{1}{4}

\frac{r}{R}=\frac{1}{2}

Therefore, the cylinder with Sara's dimensions will be geometrically similar but the scale factor will be 1 : 2

Option B is the answer.

A pyramid is placed inside a prism as shown. The pyramid has the same base area, B, as the prism but half the height, h, of the
klemol [59]
The general formula of a pyramid with any base is 1/3 bh where b is the area of the base and h is the height. In this case, the height of the pyramid is said to be twice the height of the prism, h. Hence the area becomes 1/3 b*2h or equal to option A. 2/3

Circle D circumscribes ABC and ABE. Which statements about the triangles are true?
OleMash [197]
<span>Circle D circumscribes ABC and ABE, The statements that best describe the triangles are:
</span><span>Statement I: The perpendicular bisectors of ABC intersect at the same point as those of ABE.
Statement II: The distance from C to D is the same as the distance from D to E. Hence, each of them (CD and DE) is a radius of the given circle.
So, the answer is the second option, I and II.
