At equilibrium, the concentrations in this system were found to be [ N 2 ] = [ O 2 ] = 0.200 M and [ NO ] = 0.400 M . N 2 ( g )

+ O 2 ( g ) − ⇀ ↽ − 2 NO ( g ) If more NO is added, bringing its concentration to 0.700 M, what will the final concentration of NO be after equilibrium is re‑established?

<u>Answer:</u> The equilibrium concentration of NO after it is re-established is 0.55 M

<u>Explanation:</u>

For the given chemical equation:

N_2(g)+O_(g)\rightleftharpoons 2NO(g)

The expression of K_{eq} for above equation follows:

K_{eq}=\frac{[NO]^2}{[N_2][O_2]}     .....(1)

We are given:

[NO]_{eq}=0.400M

[N_2]_{eq}=0.200M

[O_2]_{eq}=0.200M

Putting values in expression 1, we get:

K_{eq}=\frac{(0.400)^2}{0.200\times 0.200}\\\\K_{eq}=4

Now, the concentration of NO is added and is made to 0.700 M

Any change in the equilibrium is studied on the basis of Le-Chatelier's principle. This principle states that if there is any change in the variables of the reaction, the equilibrium will shift in the direction to minimize the effect.

The equilibrium will shift in backward direction.

                           N_2(g)+O_(g)\rightleftharpoons 2NO(g)

<u>Initial:</u>               0.200    0.200        0.700

<u>At eqllm:</u>      0.200+x   0.200+x     0.700-2x

Putting values in expression 1, we get:

4=\frac{(0.700-2x)^2}{(0.200+x)\times (0.200+x)}\\\\x=0.075

So, equilibrium concentration of NO after it is re-established = (0.700 - 2x) = [0.700 - 2(0.075)] = 0.55 M

Hence, the equilibrium concentration of NO after it is re-established is 0.55 M

What is the name for this molecule? 3-heptyne 3-heptene 3-hexyne 3-hexene
sweet-ann [11.9K]

The iupac name of the compound will be hex-3-yne or 3-hexyne. By marking number of carbon in the given compound, it was found that triple bond comes at third position and there are total 6 carbon in the compound. So it will have Hex as a prefix and as it contains triple bond so it will have yne as a suffix and as the triple bond is at third position, so it will be hex-3-yne or 3-hexyne.

A compound that is composed of only carbon and hydrogen contains 80.0% c and 20.0% h by mass. What is the empirical formula of t
gladu [14]

<u>Solution</u> : Emperical Formula =  CH_{3}

Emperical Formula - A formula that gives the simplest whole number ratio of atom in a compound.

In the question percentages are given then assume that the total mass is 100grams so that the mass of each element is equal to the percentage given.

Given : 80.0g Carbon

            20.0g Hydrogen

First convert the given masses into moles.

80.0g\text{ C} \times \frac{1 g/mole \text{ C}}{12.0 g/mole \text{ C}}= 6.66\text{mole of C}

20.0g\text{ H} \times \frac{1 g/mole \text{ H}}{1 g/mole \text{ H}}= 20.0\text{mole of H}

Value of each mole divided by the smallest number of moles and then round off.

Moles ratio of the element are

\frac{6.66}{6.66}\text{mole of C}= 1

\frac{20.0}{6.66}\text{mole of C}= 3

This is the mole ratio of the elements and is repersented by the subscript in the emperical formula.

Emperical Formula =  CH_{3}

An idea that is supported by some evidence, but is not yet the basis for a field study is called
faltersainse [42]

Answer:

The correct answer is working theories.

Explanation:

The theories that combine skills, knowledge, and attitudes taken from the experiences with places, individuals, and things are known as working theories. These theories function in monitoring events, making sense of experience, and solving issues, and create in order to turn more applicable and useful, more interconnected, and elaborate. The working theories are supported by certain proofs, however, they are not the basis for a field study yet.
