How can carbon aid the spread of toxic substances?

Biology
1 answer:
Luda [366]3 years ago

Carbon can transport toxic substances when combined with producing hemoglobin (COHb), which can not transport oxygen because COHb and O2 compete for the same functional group of hemoglobin. COHb is completely dissociable and, once the acute exposure to CO is finished, it is excreted by the lungs. This is a way to spread toxic substances to humans. Another polluting factor occurs through smoke, the greenhouse effect that occurs, industrial activities and the accumulation of CO, in the atmosphere.

An adult client with suspected hypothyroidism is scheduled for a thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) stimulation test to evaluat
polet [3.4K]

Answer: Serum thyroid-stimulating hormone test would confirm secondary hypothyroidism.

Explanation:

The serum thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) test involves the intravenous administration of a small amount of Thyroid Releasing Hormone (TRH) and the measurement of TSH levels at some points following the administration.

The first step involves collecting the blood sample of the patient and measuring the baseline TSH prior to the intravenous administration of TRH. Blood sample is drawn again 30 minutes after TRH administration, and TSH level is measured and compared to the baseline measurement.

If there is slight or no increase in serum TSH level following TRH administration, it is secondary hypothyroidism because the cause of the hypothyroidism is in the anterior pituitary gland. This means that the pituitary gland is not secreting TSH because it is diseased.

Which, if any, of the blood samples tested can be patient with Type B+ blood recieve?
seropon [69]

Answer:

Type B+ can only receive blood from a donor that has blood type B and AB with Rhesus positive or negative.

Explanation:

The blood group system classification is based on the presence or the absence of antigens on the surface of the red blood cells. thus the blood group system is divided into four main blood group types/antigens present. During blood transfusion, the donated blood must be compatible with the patient blood type.

In blood transfusion, patient who is Rh positive can receive blood from donor who is Rh negative, but those with negative blood types cannot receive from anyone with a positive blood type but only the Rh- blood.

Donors with blood type A can donate blood to recipients with blood types A and AB

Donors with blood type B can give blood to recipients with blood types B and AB

Donors with blood type AB can donate to recipients with blood type AB only

Donors with blood type O can give blood to recipients with all blood types A, B, AB and O.
