Find the area of the triangle

Mathematics
1 answer:
Bumek [7]3 years ago

Answer:

Area = 1/2 * Height * Length

Step-by-step explanation:

This equation is derived from the area of a square, as a the area of a square is

A = Base (or Length) times the Height. A triangle will always be the half of that equation. Getting the correct height and length depends on the type of triangle and what information is available to use, with SOH-CAH-TOA being a useful concept to remember if you don't have the necessary information.

TJ's Cat Food plans to use tins that are the shape of cylinders. Find the height of the tin, if its bottom diameter is 12 cm and
Fynjy0 [20]

Answer:

6.69 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data

Diameter= 12cm

Radius= 6cm

Volume= 757.36cm^3

The expression for the volume of a cylinder is

V= πr^2h

Substitute

757.36= 3.142*6^2*h

757.36=113.112h

h= 757.36/113.112

h= 6.69 cm

Question 8 is the one I’m having trouble on it
salantis [7]
Just multiply 30 times 2,000 and also multiply 30 times 700. The reason you will multiply it by 30 is because in 1 month there is 30 days. 30 x 2,000= 60000 30 x 700 = 21000 I’m only 9 btw so sorry if I didn’t give a lot of detail lol

Nick has fraction 1 over 2 cup of syrup. He uses fraction 1 over 6 cup of syrup to make a bowl of granola.
SCORPION-xisa [38]

Part A) How many bowls of granola can Nick make with fraction 1 over 2 cup of syrup?

So if we have 1/2 cup of syrup and 1/6 is needed we can divide 1/2 by 1/6 to find our answer for part a.

1/2 / 1/6

"keep change flip" -> 1/2 x 6

answer -> 3

He can make 3 bowls of granola

Part B) On your own paper, draw a fraction model that shows the total number of bowls of granola that Nick can make with fraction 1 over 2 cup of syrup. Make sure to label the model. Below, explain your model in detail to describe how this model visually shows the solution for Part A.

(visual attatched)

You could say "This model visually shows the solution for Part A because each bowl of granola has 1/6 cup of syrup in it. The 1/2 cup is split into 3 different parts, as you can see"

(draw it neater though, it's hard on a computer with a mouse haha)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(second problem you commented)
Part A: How many 3 over 4 foot pieces can Clark cut from the 7 and 1 over 2 feet of wire? Show your work. (5 points)
First let us change 7 1/2 into an improper fractoin,
7 x 2 = 14 + 1 = 15/2
So then we can, as we did above, divide 15/2 by 3/4 which looks like:
15/2 / 3/4
keep, change, flip -> 15/2 x 4/3
60 / 6
answer -> 10
Clarck can cut 10 3/4 foot pieces.
Part B: Using the information in Part A, interpret the meaning of the quotient in terms of the two fractions given.
*I am honestly kind of confused by this question, so here is some words that are hopefully somewhat correct*
You could say here that "Calrck had 7 1/2 feet of wire. He needed 3/4 pieces, so when he cut it up he got 10 pieces. This is because 3/4 times 10 is 7 1/2 so this quotient makes sense with the two fractions given."
Hopefully these are correct and help, have a nice day! :D
