<h2>Linear system</h2>

It is a system of an equation in which the highest power of the variable is always 1. A one-dimension figure that has no width. It is a combination of infinite points side by side.

<h3>Ratio and proportion</h3>

A ratio is an ordered pair of numbers a and b, written as a/b where b does not equal 0. A proportion is an equation in which two ratios are set equal to each other.

Given

Add four years to my present age, the result will be two times my camper’s.

Five years ago my age was 3/4 of what hers will be in eight years.

<h3>To find </h3>

The present age of counselor.

<h3>How to find the present age of counselors?</h3>

Add four years to my present age, the result will be two times my camper’s. then,

y +4 = 2x .....1

Five years ago my age was 3/4 of what hers will be in eight years.

\rm y - 5 = \dfrac{3}{4} (x + 8) .....2

From equation 1 and 2

\begin{aligned} \rm 2x - 4 - 5 &= \dfrac{3}{4} (x + 8)\\8x - 36 &= 3x +24\\5x &= 60\\x &= 12 \end{aligned}

Put the value of x in equation 2, then

y + 4 = 2x

y + 4 = 2 *12

     y = 24 - 4

     y = 20

Thus the counselor's age is 20 years.

help me please, i have no idea what im supposed to be doing and my teacher isnt much help so im hoping someone else can help me
love history [14]

Answer:

(4, 2 ) and (2, 4 )

Step-by-step explanation:

xy = 8 → (1)

y = - x + 6 → (2)

substitute y = - x + 6 into (1)

x(- x + 6) = 8

- x² + 6x = 8 ( subtract 8 from both sides )

- x² + 6x - 8 = 0 ( multiply through by - 1 )

x² - 6x + 8 = 0 ← in standard form

(x - 4)(x - 2) = 0 ← in factored form

equate each factor to zero and solve for x

x - 4 = 0 ⇒ x = 4

x - 2 = 0 ⇒ x = 2

substitute these values into (2) for corresponding values of y

x = 4 : y = - 4 + 6 = 2 ⇒ (4, 2 )

x = 2 : y = - 2 + 6 = 4 ⇒ (2, 4 )
