The French<span> and Indian </span>War was caused because both the French and the British wanted to extend their North American colonies into the land west of the Appalachian Mountains which was known as the Ohio Territory back then. The war began in 1754 and ended in 1763 due to the Treaty Of Paris. Great Britain won the French and Indian War which is also known as the Seven Years War.
