The cost of one chapstick is $1 and one eyeliner is $2.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let,

Cost of one chapstick = x

Cost of one eyeliner = y

According to given statement;

3x+2y=7      Eqn 1

4x+5y=14    Eqn 2

Multiplying Eqn 1 by 4

4(3x+2y=7)\\12x+8y=28\ \ \ Eqn\ 3

Multiplying Eqn 2 by 3

3(4x+5y=14)\\12x+15y=42\ \ \ Eqn\ 4

Subtracting Eqn 3 from Eqn 4

(12x+15y)-(12x+8y)=42-28\\12x+15y-12x-8y=14\\7y=14

Dividing both sides by 7

\frac{7y}{7}=\frac{14}{7}\\y=2

Putting y=2 in Eqn 1

3x+2(2)=7\\3x+4=7\\3x=7-4\\3x=3

Dividing both sides by 3

\frac{3x}{3}=\frac{3}{3}\\x=1

The cost of one chapstick is $1 and one eyeliner is $2.

P (A or B ). P(A or B) indicates _______. Choose the correct answer below. A. the probability that A and B both occur in the sa
Leokris [45]

Answer:

Option B is right

Step-by-step explanation:

P(A or B)

In set theory if A and B are two sets we have either A occurs or B occurs or both as

P(A or B) = P(AUB)

This implies that A occurs or B occurs

Probability is calculated as P(A)+P(B)-P(AB)

P(AB) here represents both occurring and this is subtracted as this was added two times

Option A is wrong because this is AB

Option C is wrong because it is not necessary A occurs first

D is wrong because this is A'UB' where A' represents the complement of A

So correct answer out of four options is

B. the probability that in a single trial, event A occurs, event B occurs, or they both occur.

adell [148]

Answer:

1.) y=3x-7

2.) 2=5x-y

3.) y=-4-2x

4.) 1=3/4x+y

5.) y=4x+8

6.) 9=3/4x+8

7.) 9=y+x

8.) y=-2/6x+2

9.) 5=-2/3x+y

Step-by-step explanation:

Standard form is Ax=By=C and Slope form is y-mx+b

for all of the equations fiqure out which is standard and which is slope, 3x-y=7 is standard and just switch it to slope ie:

3x-y=7

+7 -7

3x-7=y

then switch around so y is in the front and vice versa, also divde any y or C by negative 1 if the answer is negative or if there is a number in front of it like in 9, and 8
